Need a little help using World Meeting Time?
While it can look a bit daunting at first, no worries, you’ll have the hang of it in no time.
Here’s some quick instructions to help you with this newest version:
1. Choose Reference Guest
The first thing you need to do is decide whose time the meeting will be scheduled around. If you know the time you are free, for example, it will be you. If your friend Charlie in California said he can only meet at 4pm, it will be him. This will be your reference guest’s time to use in the meeting planner.
2. Set Time
Go ahead and put that time in for the reference guest. (This will be the time on the big blue box on the left hand panel). You can also add the date of the meeting. If you don´t choose it will default to today.
3. Name Guests
You can also now take the opportunity to put your guest’s names in. Because nobody likes being called “Guest 2”. Unless, of course, your name is “Guest 2”.
4. Schedule More Guests
If you want to schedule another another guest to the meeting, just click the, “add another guest” button. Another box should appear for their name. As well, another marker will appear on the map in a random time zone. You can coordinate times for up to five locations.
5. Set Locations
Now all you have to do is click and drag the markers on the map to the places in the world where your meeting guests are located. (It has to be on land, however, as WMT still doesn’t work for pirates - Argh!)
6. Explore the World!
Having trouble locating the exact spot? You can always zoom in on the map by scrolling with the mouse, your fingers on tablets, or by using the + and - symbols in the upper right of the map. You can also click and drag the map - no worries!
7. Coordinate with Major Cities
When you drop the pin on the map, the guest will then be associated with a large city that represents that time zone. Don’t worry too much if its not the exact city the guest is located in - as long as its in the same time zone. (Sorry San Franciscans, we know you’re not really in LA).
8. Schedule the Meeting!
Just click schedule meetings, add the guests e-mails and “e-mail the other parties”. Optionally you can click “Add to Google Calendar” and it will schedule the meeting through google calendar.
10. Don´t Be a Stranger
