Last weekend we reported on how a lot of No Man’s Sky players claimed success in getting a refund on No Man’s Sky, even if the game was played for more than 2 hours. Some players even claimed that a refund after having played for more than 40 hours. The Reddit post that we reported about went viral and a lot of gamers have been using the thread to get their precious money back.

Due to the popularity of the Reddit post, and the amount of refund requests, Valve has now stated that “no special exemptions” are being made for No Man’s Sky.

This means that Valve’s standard refund policy applies to No Man’s Sky as well, and an automatic refund is granted if a player has “played for less than two hours”, and the refund request was “made within fourteen days of purchase:

You can request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Maybe your PC doesn’t meet the hardware requirements; maybe you bought a game by mistake; maybe you played the title for an hour and just didn’t like it.

It doesn’t matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within fourteen days of purchase, and the title has been played for less than two hours. There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we’ll take a look.

You will be issued a full refund of your purchase within a week of approval. You will receive the refund in Steam Wallet funds or through the same payment method you used to make the purchase. If, for any reason, Steam is unable to issue a refund via your initial payment method, your Steam Wallet will be credited the full amount. The above applies to Valve’s automatic refund policy, but of course players are still can still directly appeal for a refund regardless of playtime or any other reason.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Now Rumored To Feature Four Separate Camera Sensors Next Year

When it comes to flagships, the rumor mill has been very active over the past couple of years. Months before a new gadget is launched, we start to see new information surface about devices. Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup and Apple’s iPhone lineup have been particularly attractive targets of leaks. Both the lineups have seen near complete specifications surface prior to launches. This removes the element of surprise almost completely from the equation.

True to form, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has already surfaced in a couple of leaks so far. Some of the specifications rumored for the device appear to be quite far fetched indeed. For starters, we’ve been hearing quite a bit about 4K, UHD displays for the device. Additionally, some rumors have also claimed 6GB RAM and a dual camera setup for the device. It’s the latter which has surfaced once again in the rumor mill today, coupled with Iris recognition for the device.

According to famed Chinese leaker, ice_universe, Samsung’s Galaxy S8 will feature a dual camera setup and an Iris scanner. The dual rear camera for the device will come with resolutions of 12 and 13MP. The front camera will feature an 8MP sensor for the primary lens, while the second one will be dedicated for Iris scanning. As far as photographic specifications for a flagship device go, four cameras really is the maximum you can do.

Samsung and Sony will manufacture the dual camera. The Galaxy S8 will feature Samsung’s s5K2L@ camera sensor. It is very likely that a dual camera makes it on the device.  After all, LG took the ball before both Apple and Samsung. If Cupertino really does launch the iPhone 7 Plus with a dual camera on board, then it’ll only be Samsung with a major flagship that doesn’t come with the feature. In a brand new interview with IGN, Peter Moore has been asked about the PlayStation 4 Neo and Xbox Scorpio. In Moore’s opinion, Sony and Microsoft have done incredibly well, as they are doing what needed to be done to keep their platforms fresh for technology.

“I think Sony and Microsoft have done this incredibly well. They have taken what they needed to do whether it’s 4K… to keep the platform fresh for technology that’s moving faster than the archaic nature of a 10-year piece of hardware cycle.”

Unsurprisingly enough, Peter Moore also revealed that EA teams are already working on PlayStation 4 and Xbox Scorpio content, also revealing that the teams are loving what they’re seeing right now.

The PlayStation 4 Neo is finally getting revealed next week during a special PlayStation Meeting event in New York, but yesterday we have been able to learn more about it thanks to a sketch made by a Foxconn worker who shared it on Chinese forums A9VG. He also reported that the console will be slightly thicker and heavier than the original PlayStation 4, not surprising considering the increased power of the console.

The PlayStation 4 Neo will be officially unveiled next week, on September 7th, during a new PlayStation Meeting event. We will keep you updated on the console as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.

Kazunori Yamauchi, founder of Polyphony Digital and Creator of Gran Turismo series, announced the news today on the official Playstation blog.

The racer was initially slated for a release this November, but more time is needed to “perfect” the game.

“From the start this title has been one of our most ambitious undertakings by using the latest technologies, such as physics-based rendering and sound simulations, and Scapes photo mode. In combining these features with a new Sport mode, we are offering a competitive gaming experience to truly reinvent what it means to be a racing game. We’ve been excited and humbled by the response each time that we’ve shared new gameplay with everyone”, writes Yamauchi

“However, as we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way. While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date.”

GT Sport was unveiled during Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference last year, and back in May of this year, Sony announced that the game would be launching this November.

According to website Overclock3D, they were given the opportunity to give the game’s beta an early look, after which they posted the game’s graphical options.

The Battlefield 1 closed-alpha from several months ago also supported DX12, and like the open beta that kicks off tomorrow, the DX12 option is toggable for players. Additionally, beta players will be able to adjust the game’s texture quality (low, medium, high and ultra).

Players can toggle DX12 support on or off in the Battlefield 1 PC beta. Furthermore, there are enough graphical options to play with.

Furthermore there are options to adjust lighting quality, effects quality, texture filtering, post-process quality, mesh quality, terrain quality and undergrowth quality. According to Overclock3D, there are also options for FXAA and TAA, as well as SSAO and HBAO. No graphical options for MSAA seem to be included.

Other graphical options in the open beta include FOV sliders for On-Foot and In-Vehicle combat, alongside a large variety of colour blind options.

Battlefield 1 was revealed back in May of this year, and the game’s reveal trailer has become insanely popular. Set in the trenches of World War 1, players will be able to fight in a besieged French city, the Italian Alps, and in the deserts of Arabia.

“The game will deliver a fresh experience full of what makes Battlefield great, with a multiplayer sandbox, immersion, epic scale, authenticity, team play and an ever-changing world full of unexpected Battlefield moments,“  said Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer, DICE following the game’s reveal. “We’re inviting players on an epic journey across a war-torn world, taking them to the Great War and providing something both varied and unique in Battlefield 1.

Battlefield 1 will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 21.

LeEco Le 2s to Sport a 1080p Display and 5.5-Inch Display – Extremely Affordable Price Tag for a Snapdragon 821 Powered Smartphone

According to the Chinese source that stated the pricing details, LeEco Le 2s is going to cost 2,000 Yuan, which is just shy of reaching the $300 mark. That price tag is quite impressive for a smartphone that’s going to be packing a Snapdragon 821, but it also means that the company’s is going to rely on lower margins to fill its pockets. What about all the rumors we kept on hearing about an 8GB RAM smartphone from the company?

Turns out that another variant could be released alongside it, named LeEco Le 2s Pro. According to the specifications sheet, the LeEco Le 2s will feature 4GB RAM and a 1080p display, so it’s possible that the Pro variant could feature twice the RAM and a QHD panel. Other specifications of the smartphone include a 25MP rear shooter, along with 64GB of internal storage, but there’s absolutely no word on the battery capacity.

Chinese manufacturers do have an affinity to ship out large screen Android smartphones so the LeEco Le 2s’ large room might give the manufacturer some leeway to incorporate a larger battery capacity. In fact, a large battery capacity should be the company’s first concern because a Snapdragon 821 features a higher clock processor and graphics chip unit, which will no doubt shred through battery life.

LeEco Le 2s is not going to be alone in this fight, because Xiaomi Mi5s is also said to be announced alongside the former. Both contenders are going to be battling out against one another to claim the cheapest Snapdragon 821 title, and it’s definitely going to be a battle of the ages. Apple Has Been Accused of Breach of Implied Warranty and Fraud in the Latest Lawsuit – Read All the Details Right Here

According to court documents that have been filed, Thomas Davidson, Todd Cleary and Jun Bai have filed a class action lawsuit against Apple over an alleged defect that results in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus’ touchscreens to become unresponsive and fail. The lawsuit details has accused Apple of the following:

• California’s consumer fraud statutes
• Negligent misrepresentation
• Breach of implied warranty
• Unjust enrichment
• Violations of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act

Given below are the details of the quoted lawsuit:

“Apple has long been aware of the defective iPhones. Yet, notwithstanding its longstanding knowledge of this design defect, Apple routinely has refused to repair the iPhones without charge when the defect manifests. Many other iPhone owners have communicated with Apple’s employees and agents to request that Apple remedy and/or address the Touchscreen Defect and/or resultant damage at no expense. Apple has failed and/or refused to do so.

As a result of Apple’s unfair, deceptive and/or fraudulent business practices, owners of the iPhones, including Plaintiffs, have suffered an ascertainable loss of money and/or property and/or value. The unfair and deceptive trade practices committed by Apple were conducted in a manner giving rise to substantial aggravating circumstances.”

The complaint filed requires Apple to either repair, recall, or replace affected iPhones and to extend the warranties of those devices for a reasonable period of time, along with payment of damages. To bring you up to speed of the defect, the fault revolves around a gray flickering bar at the top of the screen, along with a display that rarely responds to the touch of the person’s swipe gestures, or none at all.

iFixit referred to this problem as ‘Touch Disease’, and most consumers who’s cell phones have failed because of this received no help from the Apple employee line.

In all fairness, if a warranty period is expired, then there’s nothing that the Apple staff nor the company can do to help you out, but at the same time, if you’re going to spend a sizable amount of a smartphone, then these devices shouldn’t have a life span of less than two years. Our hopes are that Apple will either extend the warranty period and amend the harm done to these devices in form of a replacement or repair procedure.
