Hello Waffle Flower friends,
Katie here with another #TBT.  This week, I am combining the NEW Lacy Squares dies and the NEW Mini Strawberry die with some older favorites to create a sweet card for your Berry Best friend.
In my video, I share how I added color to plain white die cuts using distress inks.  I’ll also demonstrate how to use your dies to make shaped note cards.  I hope you’ll take a peek and see how it all came together!

Hello everyone! It’s Channin here and today I’m sharing a video on how to create a fun valentine that is perfect for classroom valentine’s exchanges and even houses a hidden treat!

I love creating valentines! Even when I was working fulltime and going to school fulltime I still somehow found a way to make valentines cards for my husband and my girls. Now that my oldest daughter has started school I need valentines for her entire class and of course I decided to make those too! In the video, I share some tips for how to mass-produce this Valentine design and my tips for folding the awesome 3D Diamond.

First I cut a 20 (10 pink and 10 red) 2.5” x 5.5” stitched rectangles out of red and pink cardstock using a die from Lacy Layers 5×7 dies. Then using stamps from the Enveloper Little Birdie Stamp Set I stamped “to” and “from” on the backs of all the valentines. Once the backs were stamped I passed them to my daughter so she could write her name and then I wrote her classmates’ names.

Next, I stamped a burst and gem heart using the Gemstone Stamp Set. For the pink valentines, I stamped the burst and heart in My Pleasure Dye Ink and I used Colorbox Rose Pigment Ink for the red. Next I stamped my sentiment, which is also from the Gemstone Stamp Set in Versafine Onyx Black ink on all the valentines.

When all my stamping was done I cut 20 diamonds out of vellum using the 3D Diamond die. I then folded all my diamonds and used score tape to hold them together. But before I adhered them onto the valentines, I popped a small candy (I used Rolos) into back of the diamond.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello everyone!! It’s Nichol here!!

Today I’m creating a striking background with the new Enveloper Little Birdie Stamp Set flower border images and water colors. I stamped one of the borders along both sides of a Bristol smooth cardstock background using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the images with white embossing powder. I watercolored the images with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors, giving the images rich color and then added a light aqua watercolor wash to the background to really make the flower borders pop!

To keep the emphasis on the gorgeous florals, I stamped a greeting from the Enveloper Choice Stamp Set on vellum, heat embossing with white embossing powder and wrapped the vellum around the panel. I love being able to still see the pretty background through the vellum greeting strip! This technique is so fun that I created an additional card only using one border and watercoloring over the embossed greeting for a horizontal landscape design.

Hello everyone! We have Nichol on the blog today!

To create a no-line watercolored effect, Nichol first stamped the hanging sloth and flowers images from the new Hey Girl Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with the light Coffee Loves Milk Dye Ink.

This light ink works great as a guideline on where to lay down color. Nichol used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen to blend out the color. Once the ink is applied, you don’t even see the original stamped lines anymore!

Don’t forget that once the design is completely dry to go back in and draw in the eyes, noses, mouths, etc. on any faces with this technique. A light blue watered down background adds to the sky effect and a Chunky Grass Border colored with Distress Inks blends in with the rest of the watercolored scene.

The card was finished with a stamped greeting from the Hibiscus Stamp Set and a frame created with dies from the Lacy Layers Die Collection.

Hello everyone,

Katie here with another #TBT Video to share with you. This week’s #TBT is super sized and over the rainbow because some ideas are just too big and too sparkly to fit onto an A2 note card.

[Video] No Place Like Home Card

Ever since Waffle Flower Crafts introduced the First Step stamp set last fall, I have been wanting to transform those shoes into Ruby Slippers. I love old movie musicals and The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorites. I have a bit of a personal connection too as yours truly played “Oz Lady” in her high school production of The Wizard of Oz. It was pretty epic.

Of course, I needed a fitting sentiment to go with the Ruby Slippers, so I immediately thought of using the Cutaway Alpha stamp set to create a custom sentiment. Something like “There’s No Place Like Home” or “We’re not in Kansas anymore.” It’s an idea that’s been rolling around in my brain for months now. The problem, however, was one of real estate. I just couldn’t get it to fit on the typical A2 note card.

Enter the NEW Lacy Layer 5×7 dies and there’s a whole new world of possibilities available. I was finally able to make the card that I couldn’t quite get out of my head, and I figured out a way to transform some simple shoes into Ruby Red Slippers. I hope you’ll take a peek at my video to see how it all came together.
