Pearl embellished shoes are on the runway and trending on street styles. While I absolutely love the original Gucci’s (who doesn’t?), they are pretty pricey. Lucky for us, Steve Madden has come out with a line just in time and is 1/10 of the Gucci price. They even created their own pair of the famous Gucci slip ons with pearl embellishments. Since my internship with Thakoon in 2008, I have loved following his career and have continued to swoon over his designs. This February, I was unable to attend his presentation at #NYFW but thankfully, I had some of his new arrivals to hold me over until September. The details on this shirtdress are on point, showcasing a placket front – that worked perfectly with my baby bump) and chic white accents on the cuffs and collar. I paired it with my short trench and white Clare V bag (these Anya Hindmarch stickers are a great way to personalize your favorite bags without having to puncture the purse itself.

I am so excited to officially get started on baby boy’s nursery! When we were designing Birdie’s nursery, searching for inspiration was the best part and I loved comparing our final design with the inspiration board I created at the beginning. For baby boy’s nursery I have been drawn to dark grey, matte black, and subtle beige colors – playing off the various textures. It feels like bringing the outside in with the cloudy wallpaper, animal accents, and varying finishes.

In Birdie’s room, we included a day bed which was one of the best decisions we could have made. Because when your baby is itty bitty, it makes it really easy for multiple friends and family to come see the baby, sit down, and enjoy the new space. It also is the perfect place for mama to nap while the baby naps. This black daybed really pops with the woven panels, contrasting beautifully with the beige crib (how cool is that shape?!).
