IEEE 802.1AC™-2016, Standard for Local and metropolitan area networks-Media Access Control (MAC) Service Definition
This standard defines the Media Access Control (MAC) Service provided by all IEEE 802® MAC Services, and the Internal Sublayer Service (ISS) provided within MAC Bridges, in abstract terms of the following: a) their semantics, primitive actions, and events; and b) the parameters of, interrelationship between, and valid sequences of these actions and events. A common MAC service definition standard within IEEE 802® is an important building block that will help ensure consistency across MAC Services, and consistency of MAC Services with IEEE 802® Bridging technology.

IEEE 802.3bv™-2017, Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Physical Layer Specifications and Management Parameters for 1000 Mb/s Operation Over Plastic Optical Fiber
Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) offers many advantages in installations where long link length is not a requirement, including nonconductivity and noise resistance, virtually no installation training, and robustness in harsh environments. This amendment adds physical layer (PHY) specifications for IEEE 802.3™ operation at 1000 Mb/s using standardized plastic optical fiber as the point-to-point data transmission medium.
IEEE 1898™-2016, Standard for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Composite Post Insulators
With the development of DC transmission systems up to 800 kV, standard voltage levels are rising. This international standard covers the design, testing, manufacture and maintenance of composite post insulators for HVDC power transmission systems up to and including 800kV.

This document recommends a methodology for analysis and specifications parameters of power electronics equipment for electrical power systems. IEEE is developing standards related to Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC). This work has the potential to change how energy is delivered altering the lives of people globally, especially those in underdeveloped regions of the world which lack the infrastructure for reliable power systems. To help address this issue, IEEE has a project under development, IEEE P2030.10™ Standard for DC Microgrids for Rural and Remote Electricity Access Applications, to begin to address this issue.
