IEEE Health Informatics/Medical Device Communication Standards Collection: VuSpec™
This collection includes 31 active standards that are grouped into three categories. These standards support:
- Semantic interoperability, which focuses on terminologies, data models, and data sets for specific device modalities, such as, ventilators, patient vital signs monitors and infusion pumps
- Application interoperability, which identifies a set of general services that can be used by all systems to discover, configure, and exchange data across a connection
- Lower layer transport technologies

Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC) Video featuring IEEE P2030.10 ™ Standard for DC Microgrids for Rural and Remote Electricity Access Applications
IEEE is developing standards related to Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC). This work has the potential to change how energy is delivered altering the lives of people globally, especially those in underdeveloped regions of the world which lack the infrastructure for reliable power systems. To help address this issue, IEEE has a project under development, IEEE P2030.10™ Standard for DC Microgrids for Rural and Remote Electricity Access Applications, to begin to address this issue.
