The purpose of this thread is to avoid cluttering up the subreddit with quickly and easily answered questions and game recommendations. This thread is monitored by many helpful members of our community and questions that are asked here have a very high answer rate assuming you provide enough information for our answerers to work with.
Before asking your question...
Check out the wiki pages listed below. - The mod team as well a handful of community volunteers are always adding to our wiki and updating it based on what we see users asking in this thread and in other posts on the subreddit. (We're always looking for more help with the wiki. If you're interested in becoming a wiki contributor, message /u/FlapSnapple.)
Perform a quick Google search. - Some questions really are just a quick search away and don't need the help of our community members to answer.
Search the subreddit. - We know Reddit's search isn't the best and saying to use the search doesn't sound very helpful, however, a community member created a custom search tool that works much better than the standard Reddit search. It's mobile friendly, has live results as you type, searches previous DQTs and MegaThreads, previews top comments, and more! Search /r/NintendoSwitch with Narfar, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Now that 2019 is coming to an end, it's time for us to look back at what YOU thought were the best games of 2019.

NOTE: You are not required to answer every category, but the more the better!
Voting will remain open through at least January 2nd. If votes are still coming in after 5 days, then we may extend the voting window an extra day or two. The results will be gathered and reported by January 5th.
This year's categories are:
Nintendo Switch Game of the Year - Recognizing a game that delivers the absolute best experience across all creative and technical fields.
Developer of the Year - Developer studio who displayed outstanding platform support through a combination of quantity and quality of new releases.
Publisher of the Year - Publishing studio who displayed outstanding platform support through a combination of quantity and quality of new releases.
Best Action Game - For the best game in the action genre focused on combat.
Best Adventure Game - For the best action/adventure game, combining combat with traversal and puzzle solving.
Best Fighting Game - For the best game designed primarily around head-to-head combat.
Best Music/Rhythm Game - For the best game with a focus on dance or the simulated performance of musical instruments.
Best Platformer Game - For outstanding design and creativity in a game where players must use skill to jump between platforms or over obstacles without falling or missing jumps.

2The switch concept is genius and Nintendo needs to just build upon it, like PlayStation did with their consoles. It has proven to be a success for them. That'd be an opportunity for Nintendo to not break their heads thinking about their "Next innovation" but rather focus their energy on improving their online ecosystem, the power of their consoles and quality of their games. I want Nintendo to take it the next level and I feel like they can only do that if they build upon what they already have and slow down a bit with the "innovation".
