Ah, serendipitous! I might just let one or three sit in the garden but they have kept to themselves for now. I really must get some ornamental milkweed for the border.

July is our driest month usually and with this much rain now, we shall just have to see what happens.

June begins here in the garden much as May ended-with a gentle rain pattering on the windows and on the garden. Another slow and cool spring gives longevity to the flowers which have dared to bloom. The cool moistness also holds back the iris, peonies and poppies. They stay tightly wrapped, wai...
Thank you Peter. Kind and welcome words indeed. It is sunny this morning ( Sunday) but not for long I fear. I will enjoy it while I can.

Your garden is well ahead of mine Lisa but at least there are signs of renewal.
Late Winter-Ups and Downs
Most of the winter has been quite dark here in southern New England. That is, until the second week of February when a snowstorm dropped over a foot of snow. It is amazing what a difference snow makes to the light of winter. December and January were gloomy. All was brown, rust and gray with ...
Leslie: Only the closeups look good. Best from closeup is the mantra this time of year.

Emily is a reluctant gardener having a busy work life and she is not too keen on sweating in the dirt. Still, she loves the result and has a great eye. I think gardening grows on you!
