The mission of the Undergraduate Communications Design Department at Pratt is to teach students to successfully navigate and thrive in the increasingly complex and converging disciplines that comprise the field of Communications Design. A solid grounding in conceptual thinking expressed through a wide range of applications and platforms with a focus on visual communications and the crafting of effective messaging and systems design is the core of our program. Through a deep and rich curriculum, we endeavor to introduce and demonstrate skills within the contexts of conceptual practice and problem solving, combined with cross-disciplinary, collaborative and experiential educational opportunities. Graduates of our program will be able to design and visualize effective and edifying solutions to a wide range of contemporary issues, taking their places as leaders in the industry and securing successful and fulfilling careers.
