👋 Learn a little bit more about @lianafinck before you see her in conversation with @bessbellkalb on June 10 at the Center for New Jewish Culture in Brooklyn.
Liana Finck s a cartoonist, illustrator and regular contributor to @newyorkermag where she also authors the “Dear Pepper” advice-from-a-dog column.
As the author of eight books, her work also frequently appears in The New York Times, The Atlantic, New York Magazine and more. A former Lilith intern, Liana Finck’s early illustrations and comics were published in the magazine. She authored the bi-weekly cartoon strip advice column, “Excuse Me,” featured in Lilith.
In Finck’s graphic novel, "Let There Be Light: The Real Story of her Creation," she recasts God as a woman in her feminist retelling of the story of Genesis. Her latest book, "How to Baby: A No-Advice-Given Guide to Motherhood, with Drawings" dives into the glory, despair, and impossibility of motherhood today.
She is the recipient of Fulbright, Guggenheim and New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships. She teaches creative writing at Barnard College.
