ABOUT THIS SITE The primary purpose of this site is, of course, to sell facsimile and variant dust jackets for the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs (often aka ERB throughout this site). However, I've also tried to create a colorful, interesting site that also informs the visitor about the life, works, illustrators, publishing, and collecting of ERB. Scattered throughout the site you'll find information blocks like the one on the right below about ERB in WWII that highlight some aspect of the world of ERB. I hope I have succeeded in making the site as enjoyable as possible. Thanks, Charlie
Ray Bradbury has written that “Burroughs . . . probably changed more destinies than any other writer in America.” Hyberbole aside, no one doubts that he is one of the most widely read and influential writers of the Twentieth Century, inspiring people as diverse as Carl Sagan, Jane Goodall, Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Gore Vidal, George Lucas, Ray Bradbury, Ronald Reagan. . . and worldwide, millions more.

| Recent customer comments - - I received my order on Monday. They look great on my books. . . I’m very pleased with the quality of your DJs. . . P.S. Thanks very much for including the jacket for At The Earth’s Core. Now I will be on the hunt for a book to put it on. - You do good work for a reasonable price. Thanks for the bonus cover, I truly appreciate it. . . I am a science fiction geek. I have a huge library of science fiction books, first editions and reprints collected over the past thirty years. Most of my collection was acquired at estate sales and rare book stores (those that are left). Once in a while, I will find something at an antique store. I’ll buy anything that is in the genre, but I go nuts over Asimov, EE Smith, Heinlein, John W Campbell, Clarke. I am a big fan of Burroughs’ science fiction books. Which is what brought me to you. Maybe fifteen years ago, I bought a Burroughs’ sci fi lot which had a bunch of Tarzan books mixed in. None had covers so I just put them in a box and stored them in my basement. Last week I just happened upon that box and pulled three books out. I did the research on them and found your site. So I thought I would cover them and add them to my shelves. They look great. I have a couple more that I just pulled out of another box, so I will be ordering those as well. And since I have now added the Tarzan series to my list of “buy on sight”, I will be ordering the covers more often. -Thank you very much for the DJs I received on the 19th. They arrived in excellent condition, and I could hardly wait to wrap them around my books. They fit perfectly, and look beautiful! I could not be more pleased! I also wish to thank you for the bonus DJ for THE MAD KING. I've been a Frazetta fan ever since I bought the ACE edition of TARZAN AND THE LOST EMPIRE. Thank you again, and I expect to be ordering more DJs soon. - Received my djs today. I'm surprised at the overall quality of all four. I'll be ordering again soon. Thanks. - I should have known that once I started reading the Tarzan books, my childhood would come back on me! Hahahaha! Ive started collecting hardback Tarzan books, and only Tarzan, and of course, if they need dust jackets, I go straight to you! I appreciate the free one you always give me, and thats what started me back down this road! I had to have a book for it!!! Actually, I like your variant dust jackets that you create. Once I get rolling, I may order some extra books just to put your variants on them! Many thanks! - From a customer in the UK - Just a quick note to let you know that the two dust jackets (Oakdale Affair and Moon Maid) arrived recently and in good shape. I was on holiday last week and they were waiting for me when I got back so they may have arrived a little while ago. Anyway, I'm really pleased with the jackets. They fit perfectly and significantly enhance the appearance of the books on the shelf. If I have any further requirements for facsimile jackets then I will definitely be in touch. Thanks again for the prompt service and the bonus jacket - . . . I recently received the replica dust jacket you sent for my first ed. Tarzan of the Apes. I have purchased numerous jackets from [recoverings. com], but wanted one that looked used, like my book. I ran across your website and lo and behold, there it was. I was skeptical about a scan and print version but decided to take a chance. When it came in the mail I was thrilled. Even my wife, who is not particularly a fan, was impressed. My book was either lost or stolen for more than a decade. It was returned to me about a month ago and now it seems complete. Thank you that I have been a recipient of the product of your "hobby". Best regards, . . . - I received the covers and they are absolutely gorgeous. As we complete our collection, I’ll definitely be coming back to you for our covers. Thank you so much for the additional cover of Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar. I’ll be gifting these to my husband next month. He’s going to be floored! Thank you so much!!! - I have received the Moon Maid and variant bonus The Cave Girl DJs and they look fantastic. I was in Thailand for two-weeks and just got back late Wed and picked them up at the PO yesterday, Thurs. I'll probably be ordering more from you as I pick up a few more ERB books. You have a really interesting hobby recreating these old dust jackets. I buy a few old books but really can't afford the prices for the pristine old dust jackets. I don't have a very extensive collection, but affordable DJ repros make the books so much more appealing to display. They really had some top notch artists creating these older dust jackets. - I received the facsimiles and thank you very much! They are beautiful and are already on my books by ERB. The extra one by Frazetta is very beautiful, much more so than the original one that I have now of Tarzan and the Lost Empire. | Edgar Rice Burroughs - 1940 |

Edgar Rice Burroughs was too old to see active service in World War II ~ he was 66 at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack [which he witnessed] ~ but as an established writer he served the war effort by becoming a war correspondent. He was the oldest war correspondent to serve in the Pacific theater, flying from island to island (even bumping into his son Hulbert, who was serving as a war photographer), reporting on troop activities, going out on bombing runs with the 7th Air Force. Burroughs would not come out of this period in his life unscathed. For a man his age the stresses and strains of travel in rough conditions on military flights and various warships, living in often poor, tropical conditions, weakened him and worsened a chronic heart condition. In poor health, he returned home where he died in his bed reading the Sunday comics in 1950.

Edgar Rice Burroughs (September 1, 1875 – March 19, 1950) is the successful author of more than 75 novels, the most famous being his series of Tarzan novels. An admitted ne'er-do-well, failing in any job he tried, Burroughs turned to writing in his thirties in a desperate belief that he couldn't do any worse than others he had read. For the rest of his life, year after year, with only a four year break for WWII, he would turn out pot-boilers at a phenomenal rate and in the process create some of the most beloved and enduring works of adventure, fantasy and science fiction written anywhere on the planet. His third book brought to the world the most familiar and popular character in all of fiction, Tarzan of the Apes. Readers of all types and all occupations have affirmed Burroughs’ influence on them, particularly in their formative, adolescent years. In this context it is difficult to overstate the influence of Burroughs' books. Until recently if you read science-fiction when you were young, then you read Burroughs. Within science fiction, Burroughs’ writing is a part of the genre's roots, and few modern SF authors, and many non-SF, can claim that they have not been influenced by Burroughs to a greater or lesser degree.
