Why does TJ participate in the ASHA Community?
I participate in the ASHA Community because I can interact with and get input from peers who truly understand the "ins and outs" of my work life. It's a special thing to be able to reach out and hear back quickly from someone who "gets it."
What is your favorite day of the week?
My favorite day of the week is Thursday, because this is a day when I work a shorter day and pick my daughter up from school right when school gets out (rather than having her attend her after-school program as she usually does). We try to plan special mini-adventures or outings, like going to a park, going to the library, or getting ice cream. It's something nice to look forward to each week!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would love to learn to be fluent in several languages -- Spanish, French, & ASL, at least!
Name something fun you think others don't know about you.
I was born 2 months premature and had to be in the NICU with a feeding tube for several months as a baby, so I have a special place in my heart for my preemie clients and their families.
