I can’t believe they dressed me up like this in front of everyone at the local place where you cut your Christmas trees!! How embarrassing!
Hope you have lots of special times with your families during the holiday your home celebrates. The main point is to love each other and eat snacks I think. Easy peazy.
Give your humans lots of kisses and enjoy snuggling with them!

I was pretty surprised when I saw the cat on the elevator sign (yesterday’s post). Can you believe Mom and I saw another funny elevator sign?
At least this sign had a dog on it.
I’m pretty sure this one was for:
1. Couples (with no animals)
2. Dog owners who like to sit on big rocks
Mom usually sits on a big rocks when we take a break during hikes. When we stop by a rock, I know it means time for water and snacks. Yippee!
You can tell that the dog on the sign is expecting a snack from his human (sitting on the rock). I wonder if they were hiking too?
So, since Mom sits on rocks and has me as her dog, we got to use this elevator. I’m glad we found one that we were allowed to use.
P.S.-There were no bossy cats anywhere around, either.

If you’ve following me the last week or two, you’ll remember that I’m trying to teach myself “sign language”. (trying to figure out what human signs mean)
I saw a REALLY confusing one the other day!
I wanted to take an elevator, but the sign only had two choices:
1. Couples (with no animals) could go up and
2. Single men with cats could go down.
No dogs on the elevator??? Seriously?
Silly cats! They think they’re the boss of the elevator. Ha! I like the stairs better anyhow, ’cause they help me keep my slim figure. When’s the last time you saw a slim, muscular cat?
Now you know why :)

P. S. – If you’re wondering why I’m wearing a vest in the middle of summer, it’s really a cooling vest. It’s lined with frozen stuff and helps me keep my cool :)

My mom’s getting pretty good at getting up before the sun to take me for walkies now, even though she’s still allergic to mornings. :)
I’m pretty sure she is sleep walking when we first leave. That’s ok, it gives me time to work on learning sign language.
Here’s a sign I saw this morning, for example…
I think it means that the children in this area can’t run very fast when they play ball. I’ll have to be careful if they want to play ball with me, ’cause I run REALLY fast! I wouldn’t want to accidentally run over them.
Today we walked through the neighborhood to get to a field.
We’ve had temperatures over 100 degrees (F) during the day, but sometimes it drops to the 60’s at night. Extremely weird.
It’s scaring the trees so badly that they’re dropping their leaves, even though it’s not fall.
Poor little scared trees. I hope they don’t become a petrified forest out of fear.
Anyhow, we got to the field and had fun walking all around in the grass there.
Here’s a tree tunnel that I like to walk through.
We walked a couple of miles and then headed home.
On the way, I stopped by my friend Llama’s house to say hi.
I don’t know his name yet, but I think it might be Tony.
As usual, I dragged Mom home at warp speed because she doesn’t even give me breakfast before we leave. I make her pay for not feeding me first, bwahaha!

Mom and I were walking along this morning when suddenly I realized we had passed several sections in the road that looked like this…
Oh no! This can’t be! Where are they?
I refused to move until I knew what was going on..
Mom tried to get me to keep walking, but I put my brakes on and wouldn’t budge. No! You can’t make me leave!
After Mom spent a few minutes frustrated thinking about what in the world was wrong with me, she figured it out.
Then she said, “Oh, for Heaven’s sake, Behr Behr! You’re such a silly girl. These are just painted lines in the road. Your zebra friends are all just fine.” Oh. Ooops.
Ok, now I felt silly. I thought maybe my friends Zeb, Zack, and Zoe had been squished by cars. Whew!
She took me to their barn later so I could see for myself.
Now that I look back on it, I feel pretty silly. At least it made Mom laugh :) Before that she was just kinda sleepwalking because it was so early.
I’m sure some of you have done silly things that made your humans laugh too. You’re doing a good thing for them by being so goofy.
If “laughter is like medicine for the heart”, then that must make us Canine Cardiologists. :)

My mom is allergic to morning. At least, I think that’s what she told me.
That’s a big problem right now because it’s way too hot for us to go for walkies any other time.
It’s like 147 degrees by 8 in the morning. Yuck.
She surprised me by waking me up when it was dark outside saying, “Let’s go, Behr Behr.” Really Mom?? Woohoo!!! I woke up REAL fast before she could change her mind!
I’m no dummy.
It was weird being on the street with no one around.
There weren’t even any cars around. I think they were still asleep.
I was surprised to see my friend Donkey up so early.
This time of morning Mom is too sleepy to talk to me, so I have plenty of time to think about things. Like signs.
I’ve always wondered what they mean. Some are pretty weird, actually. Like this one-
I thought about it for a while. Then I remembered seeing a big boulder in the road one time.
Oh! It means “Go around the big rocks!”
Really I would rather jump over them. I guess humans need help deciding what to do when there’s a rock in the road.
When we headed back home, I was in a BIG hurry. Mom didn’t even feed me before we left, so I was starving!!
At least I had time to think about deep things, like what human signs mean. And I got to go for walkies with Mom, even with her allergy to morning.
Life is good.

In my last post, I told you about our fun cabin vacation. (well, except for the fake bears…)
Besides the mts. being a nice break from the hot weather, I got a break from wearing a leash and dragging my parents around. That is so tiring! They don’t even appreciate me pulling them everywhere, either.

Even though I run free like this, Mom and Dad trained me to always stay within close sight of them. I never bother other animals, either. I’m such a good trail dog!
After running so much all day, I was one tired puppy! zzzzzzzzzzzz……
I sure wish I could have brought some of you with me. You would have loved it!
