    It's remarkable how cheap Musk's tunnel was to build... until you realize it only allows movement in one direction, it's 12 feet wide, it has no actual stations, and it doesn't include emergency exits. Details.

    Perhaps lost in the transport debate is that built a 6000 ft tunnel in LA for ~$10M with V1 (Godot). Next tunnel will be made with V2 (Line-Storm). V3 (Prufrock), aspirationally 10X better, should be operational next year. For reference:

    Voting rights are on New York's agenda, & suppression under microscope. But I'm concerned about how little talk there is of rights restoration. Cuomo (mostly) enfranchised people on parole thru exec action in the spring, but (1) even that needs a law & (2) reform can go further.

    Dinah Sykes is the *2nd* Kansas state Senator & 3rd Kansas legislator to switch from GOP to Democrat over the past week. Dems remain a distant minority in both the Senate & House but they've benefited from GOP divisions in past. (E.g.: a majority voted to expand Medicaid.)

    Sen. Dinah Sykes has also confirmed to me she is switching parties.

    Anne Arundel County just quit ICE's 287(g) program! County (home to Annapolis & to 570K people) is 3rd to quit this month: NC's two largest did to. New county executive Steuart Pittman (D) had pledged to quit 287(g) in his challenge to the GOP incumbent.

    Anne Arundel County has ended its partnership with the feds to screen jail detainees for possible immigration violations (known as 287g). 180 inmates were screened over past year, with 64 receiving ICE detainers. Story by .
