I can’t sit back silently as a Black woman and watch the attacks on @IlhanMN. I am sick and tired of watching Black and Brown women be used as scapegoats for white nationalism. Enough is a DAMN-NOUGH. We must all speak up and speak out.

Women of color are held to unreachable standards and scrutinized in a way no one else is. People have said and done way worst. We are also not given benefit of the doubt. Just based on who we are, people assume ill will. This is NOT okay. There’s racism at play.

I am so confused. At NO point did @IlhanMN say a damn word about "Jewish money" - she explicitly referred to AIPAC,a self-identified lobby group w tremendous influence that reflects a broken system - one that all junior & seasoned lawmakers alike are aware of and vulnerable to.

It would be class if corporate wokeness also included paying taxes, living wages and allowing unions

You can have people from marginalized backgrounds who have only learned how to "lead" based on white supremacist models of leadership, so that's what they implement even in spaces that aren't majority white

You can have people from marginalized backgrounds who actively support and advance white supremacist interests because of internalized racism. These people are often greatly rewarded for being the token

You can have leadership that is all from a marginalized background who still implement and support white supremacist practices in those spaces

Once again, an entire BBC #r4today report on war crimes in Yemen carries ZERO mention of the UK’s central role in causing this unspeakable tragedy. The UK government has licensed £4.7 billion of arms to the Saudis since the war began. The UK public deserve and need to know this.
