    The “account” he shares here is blantantly untrustworthy (a woman addicted to prescription medication doses herself into a coma and wakes up in bed, claiming to have had her clothes removed with a puddle of semen next to her). I’m sure she saw a dragon on a rainbow too.

    Again, this is the underlying point: this is *not* a debate about abuse among diehards in the conservative world. It is a debate about who deserves to be in power. Because that's what this is all about. Tribal power. This is political warfare. No rules.

    You can believe the odds are against us. Or that things look grim. Or that we are in grave danger. But to claim we are doomed is to relegate us to a world where we have no voice, no power, no ability to change the world. It is only truly hopeless once we accept hopelessness.

    I think anyone who thinks that America is gonna make it is kidding themselves frankly. This is a society torn to shreds by capitalism, supremacy, and patriarchy. It only really understands hate and greed now. Those few of us left who are sane are just that, the minority.

    This shouldn’t be surprising. This is what plays out in most poisonously tribal communities: “We care about assault, but *this* case is the exception.” And no, in such tribes, gender doesn’t determine these views. Blind commitment to the tribe does.
