    If 3rd wave of data visualisation is here () then we (the community) desperately DESPERATELY need to become tool agnostic when it comes to critique and feedback. A good Tableau Viz <> a good viz at the moment and that for me is a huge problem.

    Just as there's a fallacy that beautiful = useful then there's also the opposite, ugly <> useless - I actually find this useful to see the story despite it not being the best looking dashboard ever.

    You may have seen the rest of DSX publish their "final dashboard" of where we all sat for the last four months. Everyone else's (with the exception of ) was pretty darn good. Mine made wince - something I say with genuine pride.

    Ah, sussed it - the data shows they actually make money so their spend has actually reduced into a profit.

    submitted this great sankey to . It shows user interactions on a website driven from an email campaign, it's a complex example but a great use case for Sankey and shows how they can be used well. .

    I did wonder why the dataset picked out day of the week but couldn't find anything to suggest why. That should have rung alarm bells, it did but they weren't loud enough for me to stop and find out more. Lesson learned.
