  1. If all Labour & other opposition colleagues who yesterday abstained or voted against a public vote and a vote for them on Monday both will win with clear majorities. Bingo! A way out of the UK’s nightmare.

  2. Lots of very poor journalism on yesterday’s indicative votes, describing as “chaos” the fact no option won a majority. That was never going to happen. It was the start not the end of a process. What matters is, to most pundits’ surprise, came top.

If May had the good sense to attach Kyle-Wilson to her Deal, Bercow would allow a vote, it’d go through, the electorate would get a final say and she’d win an awful lot of new fans. More than she’d lose. She won’t though.

If every Labour MP had voted for a public vote, it would have passed - and clearly. The whip was in favour. For members of the Shadow Cabinet and front bench to have abstained makes a mockery of our Conference policy and claims that we are member-led.

Tory MPs hate their Brexit fantasies meeting harsh reality - hence their borish behaviour in the chamber tonight

  13. Brilliant result tonight! Margaret Beckett’s amendment for a public vote tops today’s votes and beat May’s deal by miles. Thanks everyone for all their support. Thus is is just the beginning not the end of the process.

So if I understand the situation, Theresa May doesn't have enough support to resign successfully.

This is also a question for Labour MPs, to which the answer will be “no” for a great many of them...

Theresa May is resigning before the next wave of Brexit talks. To the wavering Labour MPs: are you seriously going to put through a deal which will immediately be taken over by the next Tory leader, guaranteed to be a hard right free marketeer? Any "guarantees" are meaningless.
