    in 1942 Kanga Force moved to Wau in New Guinea. Kanga Force was formed in April 1942 to reinforce the New Guinea Volunteer Rifles. They were primarily involved in reconnaissance work. To read more:

    I am researching Australian civilian identity discs in & came across an article on about American soldiers swapping ID discs in 1944 due to superstition & so wrong people being identified when casualties. Does anyone know if this is true or just historic ?
