Today's challenging but rewarding adventure was an #Acer #laptop. A recent #Windows10 #update failed during the #formatting and update process, destroying the #System32 #folder with all of the key #OS files in there.
I repaired the #registry, and then attempted to restore the folder with a #recovery disk for Windows 10. Sadly this kept failing, so I had to manually create about 20 .DLL files to get the laptop functional again.
Once they worked, I was able to finally #reset the #PC with the customers #files still intact, and then set up the laptop with my usual #software to finally get it working again.
All in all, particularly due to the #DLL file recreation, this fix took about 8 hours to complete, but what a fix it is! #LaptopFixed
