New filter ➡️*Colors / Colorful blobs* ⬅️ available in the G'MIC plug-in for +Krita and +GIMP. It allows to generate custom palette images composed of several color blobs, mixed together. A good way to create colormaps from which you can pick colors in order to color your artwork ! 🎨✏️

Minor release (version 2.3.5) available today. It only fixes an issue occuring when using the G'MIC plug-in in non-interactive mode in +GIMP. So, G'MIC can be invoked again in your custom script-fus !

We have just done source code release of GIMP 2.10.6 with vertical text, async layer preview rendering, new filters, usability improvements, bugfixes, and more changes. Builds for Windows and macOS are a work in progress and will be announced separately soon.

Thanks to our new contributor Ono Yoshio, GIMP 2.10.6 will arrive (hopefully, soon enough) with vertical text writing. We expect this feature to be particularly useful for writing in a number of Asian languages, but it's also a generally useful thing to have in your designer's toolbox.

Ell added a new experimental filter called 'Long Shadow' to GEGL, GIMP's image processing engine. It's likely to be available in the next release of GIMP (2.10.6). Sorry, tutorial makers, that's another one you will have to redo :)
