Our sinister tracking code
We have a reporting requirement from our board which includes various metrics related to web traffic. We may also find this data useful for our own purpose. We are not using it to track individuals.
- Data is collected for performance metrics only.
- Data is collected on ORG-administered servers using open-source tool Matomo
- Data is not sold or used for commercial advertising.
- We don't carry advertising, so we don't lose revenue if you block ORG's tracker.
- But if it wasn't useful to us, we wouldn't do it.
- Do Not Track is respected
- The least significant byte of your IPv4 address is not recorded (i.e. 198.51.100.???)
- IPv6 addresses would be similarly anonimised (TODO: find out how?)
- A browser plugin can be used to block Matomo, such as Ghostery
- We're not settting (first-party) analytic cookies at this time, but may do in the future.
- If you're not using DNT you can request an opt-out cookie below:
(The wording of "You are currently opted in" is from the Matomo package, this phrasing not in line with consent-based opt-in - subsequently this facility is not advertised on our main privacy page.)
