    Rouhani also reacted to Trump's tweets on : This man who today sympathizes w/ our ppl, called us a terrorist nation few months ago & been against Iran from his head to his toe. Iran Pres also calls on state broadcaster to be more inclusive (aka be less anti-Rouhani).

    Pres Rouhani's 1st public reaction to : ppl's criticism is not just ab the economy but also corruption; & they're asking for transparency. Blames the econ problems on previous admin & drought, calls on focusing on resolutions. Thanks police for "keeping restraint".

    Rouhani at the cabinet weekly meeting: according to the constitution & the citizen's right, ppl r totally free in expressing their criticism & even protests, however the way you express your criticism and protest, should lead to a better situation in the country & for the people.

    200 arrested in Tehran. 52 in Mashhad, Iranian authorities have said.

    : Tehran police says 200 protesters arrested in central Tehran yesterday. 1st figures officially released. Tho still no info on how many more were arrested in other cities across where protests were reported to be bigger.

    Users in Iran are having difficulty in accessing Instagram and Telegram on their cellphones, Iranian daily Shahrvand reports. Both apps are highly popular among Iranians who use them to communicate and share pix, videos and information.

    Journalist with government daily Iran says it's still not clear whether President Rouhani will address the nation. The journalist says he deleted his previous tweet that suggested Rouhani will give a speech following 3 days of protests.

    I'll add, there's one screamingly obvious step that the Trump admin can & should take to signal support for Iranians, irrespective of what happens w/these protests: lift the travel ban. Now even more than ever, banning Iranians from the US is unjustified, unnecessary, an affront.
