We're getting back to the weekly mega threads for Q&A as summer winds down and minds switch back to skiing.
Please ask any ski-related questions here. It's a good idea to try searching the sub first. Are you a beginner -- check out the guide by a professional bootfitter and tech. And don't forget to see the sidebar for other ski-related subs that may have useful information.
Previous weeks thread is here.
If you want a quick answer or just to chat, check out the /r/skiing discord server.

Here's the deal.
If you see this message you're on the redesign. The redesign is bad.
The admins made the redesign to monetize their site better. It might look a little flashier than the old site (old.reddit.com), it might feel more modern. But it has major problems. It could be FAR better. The product we have right now isn't up to snuff, and they don't seem to be moving in the right direction.
We (moderators and community members everywhere) tried telling them--we're always trying--but they have their agenda and they don't seem to be budging. In light of this, I ask you to please opt out of the redesign.
Please send a message to the admins and click on your account button in the top right of the screen and select "Opt Out" to get them to hear our concerns.
If the Opt Out button is broken (not unlikely), please message us and we'll help you opt out.

This is a friendly community where we all come to share things about skiing. Being rude or bullying another person is pointless and has no place here.
Any post whose central topic isn't about skiing will be regarded as spam and removed.
Self promotion posts will be heavily scrutinized.
If your post is primarily about selling a product or promoting your website/social media it will be removed. This especially is up to the discretion of the mods.
The adage "It's perfectly fine to be a redditor with a website, it's not okay to be a website with a reddit account" applies here. It is fine to post content you have created from off of reddit, as long you are contributing to the community and not just doing it for personal gain.
If your submission is about content expressly covered by a stickied discussion post, or megathread, it will be removed. Megathreads are organizational tools meant to contain topics. Always redirect your post to the megathread for your topic if it exists.
