“Adversity score” is a term used in the media and is inaccurate because that’s not what the dashboard does. The Environmental Context Dashboard is not a part of the test, but rather a free tool that universities choose whether & how they want to use it in their admission process.

The Environmental Context Dashboard does not alter a student’s SAT or ACT score. Rather, the tool is designed for admission officers to view a student's academic accomplishment in the context of their neighborhood and school.
