The tule elk rut has brought a surprise this year, a late calf was just discovered at the San Luis National #WildlifeRefuge. This calf, covered with spots & still a little wobbly was born a tad outside the normal calving season of April - early June. #HappyFriday

As the smallest subspecies of white-tailed deer, the Key deer are pretty small. This little one, just born in early July was about the size of a large cat. She or he was following mom and another smaller deer around National Key Deer Refuge.
