Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a house in Pillar Brae Road. Three armed masked men entered the property and made off with a sum of money. Male occupant not injured but left badly shaken. Any information contact police on 101.

Police are investigating after a report of an aggravated burglary in the Woodvale area of Larne last night in which a man was beaten with sledgehammers. He is being treated in hospital for what are described as life-changing injuries.

Detectives have arrested a 23 year old man on suspicion of attempted murder, as part of an ongoing investigation into an incident in which a man in his 20s sustained a gun-shot wound to the abdomen in the north Belfast area, yesterday morning. He remains in police custody.

A security alert in west Belfast has ended. A device left outside an address in the Andersonstown road area last night has been declared an elaborate hoax. Enquiries are continuing. Anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area yesterday evening should contact police on 101.
