I am shocked about claims by #Turkey that Saudi journalist Jamal #Khashoggi was murdered in Consulate. If confirmed, that’s an unprecedented crime against journalists. I trust Turkey authorities will unveil details. Those responsible for this horrific crime must face justice.

Request to extradite #CanDundar to #Turkey on same day as perpetrator of his attempted murder is acquitted except for "carrying unlicensed gun" (10 mths) & “willful injury” (fine). Journalists should not be prosecuted for investigating; attackers should not benefit from impunity

I wrote to authorities in #Bulgaria to fully investigate attack on journalist D. Varbanov, as there are accusations of false information incl. by him. Manipulating information, especially when safety of journalists is at stake, is dangerous and irresponsible.

Court order banning journalist #VincentPrado from filming in #Mangistau, #Kazakhstan is inappropriate. Accreditation is not a license to work, should be only for specific situations such as conflict zones, private or official events or in locations with a limited capacity.
