Iran has been ruled by Arabs that's been trying to transform Iran into 7th century Arabia for the past 40 years, however the iranian people are rising and will replace the regime soon

Mike Pompeo demands total expulsion of Iran-led forces from Syria. Not easy. Half of 80,000-man force are Lebanese, Afghan, Pakistani & Uzbek mercenaries. Transferring them to Iran could pose threat to Iran's own security Talk of turning them into a Foreign Legion based in Syria.

How many sanctions the Senate has imposed on China, Iran and Turkish regimes for their killing, kidnapping and imprisonment of journalists? This is an isolated case and still premature to draw conclusion. Yet Saudi is an important economic and geopolitical ally, vital to oil sec

This is not a right time for this. First of all it's still premature to conclude what happened and who was responsible and in what way. Second, as far as the US geopolitical, economic and strategic goes, Saudi is a loyal partner and ally, very critical for oil sanctions

case is a dangerous development. I can see the hands of Iranian regime hard at work to drive a wedge between USA and KSA while it is setting the Middle East on fire. Yet another clear sign for the White House that this regime will not go gently into that good night.

Britain didn't colonize the middle East as much, the Ottomans and Persians ruled middle East for much of the colonial history. But the way Britain divided territories was wrong. They were clever enough to break up into smaller portions, but ignored ethnic and sectarian divisions

Actually the camels and tents are part of their cultural heritage and costumes and won't go anywhere either

They have very deep traditional roots that won't go away anytime soon. They may modernize, secularize and move from tents and camels to mega mansions and private jets and Lamborghinis, but those costumes remain intact

You really can't run those countries any other way, they're still as tribal as they've been for 1000s of years and that's why the only successful colonialists were the ones who worked it out with the powerful tribes. Britain used those tribes to dismantle the ottoman empire

The current Qatar rulers clan comes from this extended tribe that has many branches and subbranches in Qatar, Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. Even brothers and cousins within the same ruling family compete. Actually not a complex transition

You need to understand where those rulers come from. There are competing tribes and competing clans within tribes and competing families within clans, any of the competing ones would happily take over, most families are split in different arab countries

Turkey doesn't have any capacity to engage in a war in the Persian gulf other than dropping a few bombs and getting into such war would put the very existence of the regime at risk. Qatar is so small and easy to reach for the Arabs that may take an hour to take over

I think it's time to consider relocating the base to an ally country, every single administration has been forced to ignore the thread and appease Qatar for the sake of the base. I think other Arab states would invade and replace the leadership there the moment Americans pull out
