This is Pilot Officer John D. Flintoff of 440 (City of Ottawa) RCAF Squadron. His son contacted me a few months after I colorized this photograph, and I learned that he survived the war.

4 May 82 Lt Nick Taylor KIA at Goose Green. One of only 2 Buried where they fell in Falklands war. “Killed whilst flying for the country he loved”.

The T-33 was the first aircraft acquired for Tangmere. I had collected it from RAF Sculthorpe c.1979 and kept it on a friend's farm at Hailsham until the museum opened. The Hunter we collected from Dunsfold c.1983.
