Learn MoreInternational Student Life holds an International Graduation Ceremony to recognized and celebrate the achievements of international students and ISL student leaders graduating from The University of Georgia. A ceremony is held in May of each year and is intended to serve as a complement to the UGA Commencement Exercises.

This year's orientation will run from August 1st-6th and include important sessions regarding immigration, safety, and academic adjustment, in addition to social activities that assist with community building.

International Student Life offers a weekly listserv that provides information about upcoming office events, programs and services. Additionally, the listserv also incorporates key departmental and University announcements as well as highlights international events on campus and in the surrounding area.
ISL organizes an orientation each semester for new and transfer international students matriculating to the University of Georgia. The information included in this orientation is not covered by any other program on campus. The Fall 2016 program this year will be August 1-6, 2016.
ISL advises approximately 20 international and multinational student organizations each year. Each of these organizations help promote the ISL international student organization community values of advocacy, building community, and cultural exploration.

I traveled the world through ISL, and I didn't have to leave Athens to do so. ISL taught me how to extend my service, care, and warmth to a wider audience. The diverse learning opportunities, the service-minded environment, and most importantly, the lifelong friendships are what easily classified my ISL experience as the best part of my college career.
While I have been involved in various organizations around campus, ISL is where I found my family. ISL is where many students find their family. I've had so many opportunities to better myself as both a student and an individual through this department and my involvement in it since I came to the university of Georgia has been one of the best experiences of my life.
My experience with ISL at UGA for the past three years has been nothing short of amazing! I have met so many new friends through being a part of various ISL organizations and I have learned so much whether it be greeting someone in a different language to bonding with 300+ international student during orientation week. I think the ISL does a great job in promoting multicultural diversity at UGA and acting as a home away from home for many different students.
