License Renewals

How do I renew my license?

With the exception of some legacy licenses, all licenses will automatically renew. You can review your license renewal information from within your Gravity Forms account page. Note though that a canceled license is not eligible for renewal, even if you have not yet passed the license expiry date.

What happens if my license expires?

If your license expires, you will no longer be able to receive updates (including security updates), contact support, or download add-ons. While Gravity Forms will remain intact on your site, we highly recommend you correct any expired licenses due to any possible future security needs and bug fixes.

License Upgrades

Can I upgrade my Gravity Forms license?

Of course! You can upgrade your Gravity Forms license directly from within your account. Note though that a canceled license is not eligible for upgrading, even if you have not yet passed the license expiry date.

What happens when I upgrade?

When you upgrade, your license key does not change, but we do update the license type it represents. No changes are necessary to any websites you have the license key installed on.

When upgrading your license, your new license will have an annual renewal date equal to the same day you upgraded. So if your original license was set to renew on December 1st, but you went ahead and upgraded it on October 1st, then your new license will renew on October 1st of each subsequent year, until cancelled.

How is my upgrade price calculated?

When upgrading, the purchase price of the upgrade will usually be discounted by the value of your existing license.

When upgrading a legacy license (Personal or Business) to Gravity Forms Basic, Pro or Elite, you will receive a discount equal to the full value of the legacy license standard price. That is, $US39 discount when upgrading from a Personal license, or $US99 when upgrading from a Business license (regardless of what you paid for that legacy license).

When upgrading a non-legacy license (Basic or Pro) to a higher value license, your purchase price will be discounted by the pro-rated value of the license you are upgrading. This is calculated based on the license term remaining.

These purchase discounts apply only to initial purchase price, and not future renewals.

How do I upgrade my Gravity Forms License?

You can upgrade Gravity Forms at any time and receive an adjusted/discounted rate automatically. Coupon codes and discounts do not apply to license upgrades. If you would like to upgrade your license, there are two routes you can take:

  1. Login to your WordPress site’s admin dashboard.
  2. Go to the Gravity Forms Settings page (Forms > Settings).
  3. If you entered your license key, upgrade options will appear below the Settings area on that page. It may take a few seconds for it to appear as it is loaded via Ajax.
  4. If you haven’t entered your license key yet, enter it and save your settings. After doing so, the Upgrade options will appear.
  5. Select the license you would like to upgrade to and click the Upgrade link to purchase.
  6. Complete the checkout process.

The upgrade discount you receive is automatically factored into the price based on the license key you currently own and the time left on your current license.

Once payment is received your license key will automatically be upgraded, although it can take a few minutes for the upgrade to be reflected on your license. Once the changes have processed, you will be able to visit the Gravity Forms Add-Ons page (Forms > Add-Ons) in which you should now have access to the add-ons associated with your upgrade.

An alternate method of upgrading is via the Gravity Forms website:

  1. Go to https://www.gravityforms.com.
  2. Log into your Gravity Forms account or create one if you haven’t already done so.
  3. Go to the My Account page.
  4. Click on the Upgrade link next to the license key that you want to upgrade.
  5. Select the license you would like to upgrade to and click the Upgrade link to purchase.
  6. Complete the checkout process.

License Transfers

Can I transfer my license key?

Yes. We provide a method to do this from within your Licenses page. Refer to article How to transfer a license.

License Cancellations & Refunds

What happens if I cancel my license?

If a license is cancelled, it will still be valid for downloads and support until the listed expiration date, but it will no longer be eligible for renewal or upgrade. On the expiration date, you will cease to be able to download Gravity Forms, add-ons, or access support.

If you would like to continue using Gravity Forms after your license expires, you will need to purchase a new license and change any existing sites to the new license key.

Cancelled licenses cannot be renewed or upgraded.

How Can I Obtain A Refund?

You can review our refund policy and request a refund via this page.

License Keys

How do I find my license key(s)?

From the GravityForms.com website, “login” using the option in the header, and from there, choose the “Licenses” section to see all your license keys. There is a copy button next to it as well, which will put the license key on your system clipboard.

How do I use my license key?

To use your license key, install Gravity Forms on your WordPress site, activate the plugin and then go to Forms > Settings and enter it into the License Key API input field. Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page, and a green check mark should be displayed next to the field.

If you don’t receive a green check mark, please double check what was inputted into the field, and contact support if you require assistance.

You can use your license key only on the number of sites you’ve purchased in your licensing terms. Sites are WordPress installations, not servers, or otherwise. This includes multisite installs which are, by definition, separate sites.

Please keep your license key secure. Abuse of your license key could cause it to be removed from our system, and no refunds will be given for abuse.

Can I see which sites are associated with my license?

WordPress sites that have been registered with a Gravity Forms license key will be displayed under that license’s “sites” page. These sites are divided into 2 sections: Active Sites and Revoked Sites.

Active Sites

Active sites are any WordPress sites using your Gravity Forms license key within the last thirty days. These sites are eligible for automatic updates and support.

To register an active site against a license, just install the Gravity Forms plugin and add your license during the installation process. That site will show up on your active sites list automatically.

Revoked Sites

Revoked sites are any WordPress sites that have used your Gravity Forms license key and you are denying permission to use it any further. When a site is revoked from a Gravity Forms license, it will continue to run but will no longer have access to automatic updates or support.

Sites can be revoked from the Active Sites tab on your License’s sites page, removing the license from your plugin settings or uninstalling the plugin from your site.

For more information on how to revoke a site, see Can I revoke access from a site? within this article.

Note: Revoked sites will not be able to use your license key unless access is restored from within your license page. For more information on how to restore access to a revoked site, see Can I restore a license that I revoked? within this article.
