Brian Douglas is a Web Developer at Netlify and the host of the JAMstack Radio podcast. He focuses his day to day work on React and JavaScript development. He has built an open sourced React Native iOS app as a way to teach bootcamp students to move out of their comfort zones and mentors new developers into opening their first pull requests to popular JavaScript tools.

Malan is Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Computer Science in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and a Member of the Faculty of Education in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. Machisté is a Software Engineer at Slack, where he works on the cross-platform Slack desktop app, combining web and native in unholy matrimony. During his 15 year career as a copywriter, he wrote TV, radio, print, interactive ads for general market clients such as Pontiac, Ford, Molson, Sony Music, Lowe's. And Multicultural Ads for McDonald's, Burger King, US Army, The Prudential. Now, Jonathan is leading the charge in training people with criminal backgrounds to learn multiple coding languages over one year in order to obtain entry-level positions within the tech industry.

Todd is a Senior SCM Engineer for Adobe supporting their worldwide development efforts from the Silicon Slopes of Utah. Todd has been in the Software Configuration Management (SCM) field for 30 years in multiple capacities. From writing custom version management tools for the Department of Defense to working at some of the largest and most well-known companies in Silicon Valley. He has worked with many of the most popular tools in the industry. Today Todd lives in Utah where he enjoys the close proximity to ski resorts and the multitude of outdoor activities and National Parks.

Joe has many roles in the GSA Digital Service including team lead, developer, and open government (e.g., open data, API, and open source) evangelist. He is a front-end and web API developer by primarily using flavors of JavaScript. He went to the “dark side” as a manager for a while and realized it is more fun to make things then talk about making them. In 2013, Joe served in the Executive Office of the President in the Office of the USCIO where he pushed for open government implementation across the federal government. He has been in government, industry, is a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, information systems, and government. His current PhD dissertation is entitled: The Barriers to Open Sourcing the People’s Code where he is mining data from the GitHub API and will interview federal social coders about publishing code.

Before GitHub Tal was an adjunct Prof of Intellectual Property and even before then she worked at Creative Commons. While still a Tel-Aviv-ian, Tal worked as a product manager in Israeli startups. Chris Wanstrath co-founded GitHub in 2008 to make it easier to build and share software with people. A self-taught developer, Chris briefly attended the University of Cincinnati before moving to San Francisco to work as a software developer at CNET Networks on GameSpot and Chow. He left CNET in 2007 to start his own business, which eventually led to GitHub. Over the years Chris has created or contributed to dozens of open source projects. Today at GitHub he's focused on making developers all over the world more productive and collaborative while making it easier for anyone to become a developer.
