It's pretty good. Textra is better. I will switch back to Google messenger when RCS becomes availableo on Verizon. Side note: man messaging on Android is so bad! This is the area where iPhones are a decade ahead.

This app is good but is missing one important feature: add a contact to a text mesaje. This is one thing I really need. In this moment I have to copy phone number and insert into a text message. This should be much more easier because it's a smart app for a smart phone.

This app needs a dark mode, please! It would also be nice if you could select emoji's easier by continuous scrolling vertically instead of horizontally by pages. It rarely shows a suggestion for an emoji when I type a word to trigger an emoji. Other than those things, this is a good app.

I think the app is great. Only it's a little hard to tell apart new massages from old ones. They are darker I know but just wish there was an icon or something as well. Thanks!

Google, please stop fragmenting your messaging apps, and consolidate them! Love the classic functionality, and the Wi-Fi support (when possible). Dislike the new icon, it doesn't match any of my other apps.

Used to be great, now completely unreliable. Can't do MMS messages right either now as it can't receive them. Also Crashes constantly. Htc 10

Can't name group text threads (screenshot above is misleading) choose to use Textra instead despite a worse UI, at least they can handle this very basic feature.

I can't mute conversations anymore. Why would you take this feature away? I'm hoping it's just a glitch. As of 3.28.18 I still can't mute

Everything works as it should and it never crashes, however, one request would ask is to list, or give the option in the settings, a number below the person's name. This is because I have more than one number for some people and don't want to accidentally text the wrong number. Thanks!

Deleted messages reappear. Had to delete again. And after I did data transfer to a new phone, deleted messages appear on the new phone. Please make them permanently go away.

Worst new update. I'll be mid conversation and the app will stop working and force closes. This usually happens when a text from the sender is coming in at the same time I am typing. Also some of the emojis have changed their look, but only change when you click on them not in the menu itself. Fix it!!

I think it needs a little bit of work but overall the best app for texting I've used. Very well designed best built app next to iMessage. Having the color pre contact is really nice as well. Definitely works best with Gboard!
