#AndroidTV is phasing out the legacy recommendations #UX in favor for the new UX in #AndroidO
Learn more about our strategy → https://goo.gl/H552kU
Over the next year, we will phase out the automatic generation of channels. Instead of generating multiple channels, one for each app's legacy recommendations, we will insert one channel for all legacy recommendations.

Security metadata to be added to APKs in 2018
Starting in early 2018, we'll be adding a small security metadata onto new or updated apps to verify that the app was officially distributed by Google Play.
Read more from our blog here → goo.gl/gvwsdA
There is nothing that you need to do, and this change doesn't impact publishing or APK signing. To account for the small, additional size of the metadata, we'll also raise the maximum APK size accordingly.

LoWPAN support available today in #AndroidThings with the #Dev Preview 6.1 release, including first-class networking support for Thread. Get started quickly with supported #OpenThread hardware.
Read our blog post here → goo.gl/zpdyUD
The Low-power Wireless Personal Area Networks (LoWPAN) API enables Android Things apps to manage and configure Thread mesh networks. With this API, developers can integrate additional radios into their device to communicate directly with other peer devices on a Thread network, even ultra-low power battery operated nodes that may not have WiFi or Bluetooth connectivity.

Developing in #3D? GAPID (Graphics API Debugger) is a new tool to diagnose rendering and performance issues and save you precious time
Read our blog post → goo.gl/xkup63
With GAPID, you can capture a trace of your application and step through each graphics command one-by-one. This lets you visualize how your final image is built and isolate problematic calls, so you spend less time debugging through trial-and-error.
