Welcome to the original Startup Grind Chapter established in February 2009 when nine people showed up in Mountain View California to brainstorm, hang out, and eat cheap pizza. This Chapter has hosted some of the best entrepreneurs Silicon Valley has ever had and we host monthly events and a couple of parties each year. Hope to meet you at an event soon!

Startup Grind's Global Conference is the event for startups everywhere. Over 7,000 entrepreneurs will meet in Silicon Valley for 2.5 days of sessions led by top CEOs and influencers, dynamic networking events, meetings with investors, access to invaluable resources, and more. Pre-registration will take place on Feb 12. Main conference will take place on Feb 13-14.

Karlie Krieger

Co-Director

Karlie is the VP of Partnerships + Marketing at Startup Grind. She focuses on the planning and production of Startup Grind's Global Conference, bringing thousands of entrepreneurs to the Silicon Valley every February (more at startupgrind.com/conference). In addition to the event, she also runs strategic partnerships and sponsorships for the brand globally. Previously, she ran all major conferences at Inc. Magazine while living in New York City. She now lives in San Francisco.

Lindsay Markel

Director

Lindsay manages Events & Partnerships at Startup Grind. She focuses on Startup Grind's Global and Europe Conferences, bringing thousands of founders and thought leaders together for networking, education and inspiration. She also heads up local events and content for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley Chapters. Lindsay holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA. She now lives in San Francisco.

Marketing Manager

Judy is the "Marketing Entrepreneur” at Startup Grind. Grew up in Taiwan, New Zealand and San Francisco, Judy is passionate in helping global entrepreneurs to change the world. Judy focuses on promoting Startup Grind’s Global Conference to thousands of founders, thought leaders and entrepreneurs. In addition, she also runs the affiliate partnership and student programs. (Drop her a note to learn more!) Previously, Judy worked at Palm, Inc. (acquired by HP), Medallia and Cheil Worldwide (Samsung). Judy holds a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley and MAM/MBA from Yale SOM and NUS.

Favorite Startups from TechCrunch Disrupt 2017

The winner of TechCrunch Disrupt 2017 Startup Battlefield is Pi. They developed a device that allows smartphones and other devices to charge wirelessly . Amazingly, they were able to demonstrate this on stage in front of a live audience. In comparison, in the previous week, Apple annouced their wireless charging pad, Mophie, which is clearly an inferior product. Along with the bragging rights, Pi received a $50,000 cash prize.
