It's been a long time, hasn't it? A lot has happened since I was last on here, it feels strange posting here again.  I hope you have all been well!

My little Dylan is almost 4 months old.  I have missed you guys!  I need to get back to posting more regularly.
Time has flown!

Motherhood has been so rewarding - I still can't believe that I have been blessed with such a beautiful responsibility.  I am so honored.

Cherry Parfaits

Cherries were on sale yesterday.

They were so shiny and they were that gorgeous dark red.  I couldn't resist.  So of course, I snatched them up and added them to my cart.  They made their first appearance today in my Cherry Parfaits.

The great thing about Cherry Parfaits is that they are easy to make and look really pretty.  These are good to make if you're home alone and want a quick treat or even if you have guests coming over and want to make something simple.

All you need are cherries, heavy cream, confectioners sugar, vanilla essence, chocolate, sugar cookies, milk (or in my case - vanilla almond milk), and nuts.  

From there, just whip the heavy cream with vanilla and sugar until it's the sweetness you want and then soak the cookies in the milk for a few seconds until softened.  Then you just layer away.  Cream, cookies, cherries, nuts, cream, cookies, cherries, nuts.  Then just dollop on one last bit of cream and pop some cherries on the top, then garnish by grating some chocolate over the top.  Quick and easy!

A New Lifestyle

Our baby Dylan is due to come into the world in a little over two weeks.

I have been looking at the lifestyles of my friends with children and seeing how differently they live to what Brian and I are used to.  I am very organized and detailed, and most of my friends tell me to throw that out the window once the baby comes, hahahaha!  

Mothers and Fathers out there - what were some of the biggest changes to your lifestyle once you had children?

Go-to Holiday Sweets

It's that time of year again.  Time when the Sweet Tooth is king. :)

With all these Christmas and New Year's parties coming up, I find myself constantly baking, so I like to have a go-to Holiday Sweet list.  I have a few basic standards that I can then customize with each party to change it up.  Do you have any go-to Holiday Sweet recipes?

Baby Shower Thank You Cards

Brian and I had a little craft night the other night. :)

It's not the norm for Brian to sit down with me with paper, scissors and glue - but since we were making "thank you" cards for all the baby gifts we received, he joined in on the fun.

The first baby shower that I had was thrown by my Mum and three of my lovely friends, and it was a camping theme.  To keep with the theme, I decided to create Thank You cards that went along with that same theme.

 We ended up making some cute little pop-up cards.  What do you think?
