Quarantine spoofing and reporting phishing emails

This morning when I opened Outlook, I found an email from "Administrator" titled "Spam Quarantine Notification".
Being the administrator of our Exchange Online network, I know this is not an Office365 notification - it's clearly a phishing email - but it looks pretty darn close to our normal spam quarantine notifications that I fear that some of our users may not know the difference.

I would very much like it if Microsoft Office365/Exchange Online would build a "report this email as phishing scam" feature in to new versions of Outlook and maybe even make a publicly available add-in for existing versions. You have the feature in Outlook Mail - the free webmail hosting - yet it isn't available for the paying customer's using corporate hosting and costly (in a relative sense) full desktop products. I find this quite alarming actually.

In addition to this, it would also be darn helpful if administrators of a network had an easy way to blacklist or whitelist emails and/or domains from the Outlook email client.

I know this is a public forum and not a support centre, but it would be great to know if my concerns and requests are valid.

Thanks and regards

Reece - "Long term Microsoft user and cloud hosting advocate"

Azure AD makes the "leader" quadrant in Gartner’s 2017 Magic Quadrant for Access Management!

Gartner released their 2017 Magic Quadrant for Access Management (AM MQ), which shows that Azure Active Directory is placed in the “leaders” quadrant and is positioned very strongly for completeness of vision.

The AM MQ is the evolution of the Identity and Access Management as a Service (IDaaS) MQ, which was discontinued last year, and Azure AD has been in the leaders quadrant two out of the three years the service has been generally available!

Read about it on the Enterprise Mobility and Security blog.

Users flagged for risk

I am seeing quite a few of my customers Office 365 users flagged for risk in Azure AD and recieving a notificaiton in their Office 365 portal.

It seems without a Azure AD premium you can't tell what type of security risk it is.

Has anyone else figured a way of deciding if these events should be dealt or not?

Or is the only option to investigate each user listed in the report and treat their account as comprimised and reset password, check mailbox etc?

Here is the message we recieved in our Office 365 portal:

Microsoft has detected unusual activity that may indicate unauthorized access to some of your users’ accounts. We are providing this notification so you can review and take action. This notification does not mean that Microsoft’s own systems have in any way been compromised.

Microsoft is providing you the ability to review the affected users through an online Azure Active Directory Report.

Slow Performance; Slow to Open/Save

Hello,

I have created a data model within a workbook comprised of 15+ Excel data sources and 1-2 from SharePoint. The Excel data source files range from 10k-100k rows, which are located on our network drive. I use Get & Transform to pull in each of those files to clean the data. Some queries have very little applied steps, and some have 10+ steps. Some steps are minor, such as removing columns; however, some are more complex, such as conditional calculations. Ultimately, the workbook uses the data model to populate the front-end of the report consisting of 20+ pivot tables/charts. A few slicers control the tables/charts on the front-end. There is also VBA within the workbook, but only to format and print.

There are two issues I wrestle with every time I introduce a new data source via Get & Transform:

The "Refresh All" takes about 2-5 minutes to perform. Is this normal?

The file size is only 8.5 mb; however saving the file takes over 3 minutes and opening the file takes a long time as well. (When opening the prompt freezes at 0%) What is causing this lock up?

Has anyone attempted this and what was your experience? We are currently in the process of moving all of our users from on-premises to the cloud. I found a great article that goes through some steps modify DNS to support online only connnectivity.

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/praj/2016/03/25/migration-of-skype-for-business-hybrid-environment-to-skype-for-business-online/

The article doesn't go into detail about managing accounts or removing all of the on-premises servers. Our goal is to completely remove our on-premises servers. However, I'm not sure if this is possible if we sync our on-premises AD accounts to Azure AD. We don't create accounts in Office 365, so to enable new accounts, we might still have to keep the on-premises environment in place, at least one pool to move users from onprem to the cloud.

Microsoft Announces Virtual Event: Azure OpenDev on June 21st

Whether it is to drive agility, develop new skills, or engage and scale through community, open source is at the core of how developers deliver value in a cloud world. I can clearly see this accelerating through my work on Microsoft Azure. Open source technologies are an integral part of our offerings, and we have a strong partner ecosystem helping us deliver the open source solutions developers love on Azure.

To show what’s possible with open source on Azure, Microsoft will host the first Azure OpenDev online event on June 21st at 9 am (Pacific Time). This new event series is designed for developers and architects using open source technologies and the cloud to accelerate innovation and digital transformation of the business. The event will include open source thought leaders such as Canonical’s founder Mark Shuttleworth, Docker’s COO Scott Johnston and other community advocates from Chef, Pivotal, Red Hat, and more, sharing their perspectives on what is possible with open source and the cloud. I hope you’ll save the date to participate in this community event.

Event Hubs Auto-Inflate, take control of your scale

Azure Event Hubs is a hyper-scalable telemetry ingestion service that can ingest millions of events per second. It gives a distributed streaming platform with low latency and configurable time retention, which enables you to ingress massive amounts of telemetry into cloud and read data from multiple applications using publish-subscribe semantics.

Event Hubs lets you scale with Throughput Units (TUs). TUs are variable reserved capacities and the component that you would purchase. A single TU entitles you to 1MB/second or 1000 events/second ingress and 2MB/second or 2000 events/second egress. This capacity has to be reserved/purchased when you create an Event Hubs namespace.

Has anyone else been experiencing the O365 Home Page not rendering?

Today it is specifically in Chrome. I get the O365 Title bar and the App Launcher, but nothing else renders. Works in IE, Edge

Full Functionality in the menu and App Launcher. I have not tested in multiple tenents yet.

We are in the process of turning on O365 MFA and I have found that the W10 Teams App will no longer sign in. There is no provision for authorizing the app via MFA or from an App Password.

Has anyone been able to make this work with the native Microsoft MFA or have you had to use a 3rd party solution?

There is an issue with Office 365 Apps not working with DUO Security MFA? This is particularly problematic on Windows 10 Mobile. The second authentication page presented by DUO Security is not rendered. Microsoft staff believe DUO Security is not up to date on Modern Authentication. Yet, the same expected rendering works with some Office 365 apps but not all of them. The issue is present in Delve, Skype for Business, and PowerApps. However, Teams, SharePoint, and Yammer work fine with DUO Security..
