Apple does this thing where they improve the hardware every year for no reason for a higher price and everyone buys it. (and then next year everyone realizes the apple hardware is basically obselete now)

Archaius _: Honestly, I'm a diehard, tragic stock Android fan, the Galaxy Nexus completely captured my imagination and after the Note 2 I owned I swore I'd never stray from Google's Android again but what I've seen so far has me looking at the V30 and wondering why I shouldn't buy that.
I'm sure it's too late but please make sure the Pixel XL 2 doesn't disappoint on the hardware front, the Note8 and V30 are both pretty great.

David James: +Archaius _ iPhone X is not lacking innovation. Innovations exist in both hardware and software. The experience of using the device comes from both and in this regard Apple is innovating in a lot of the right ways. And yes that includes hardware and software.

Fyi I don't own an iPhone. I am just being objective here.

In respect to my comments, this is exactly where the Pixel excels currently too... the experience. It is what gets the most praise. I agree they have to deliver on some key technologies and features but really, they just need to keep doing what worked on the current Pixel.

1. Great camera all round.
2. Fast and simple.
3. Best integration of services for Google.

Pie Or Cake: +Ronald Higgins That's why you have multiple sources of renewable energy. There might be days without wind, but solar still works well, and vice versa. Even without 100% efficiency, it's still better than killing the planet by burning fossil fuels.

Ronald Higgins: +Pie Or Cake producing energy is not the problem . The difficulty is getting the energy where and when it is needed reliably . Producing renewable energy is now becoming economically viable but the problem is most wind farms operate during daylight hours pretty much in conjuction with solar production . These so called green technologies will require batteries the currently do not exist . Making those batteries is not a green technology nor is it inexpensive or an easy task !

For me, when the app is on the phone, I know it's there and I can use it. Hard to remember all mobile experience things if you're not aware of them. Of course you can add them to the desktop.
But why use native apps then at all? We can uninstall Google Plus and Allo?

I decided to have a look (I'm not a Walmart shopper and don't expect to become one, but there are some stores I like that are participating). I immediately noticed the free (or cheap on small orders) shipping, but stores get to set prices different from in-store prices. Some might argue that since it costs money to ship/deliver then they should be able to roll that into the price. OTOH, we as customers have no way of knowing how much of a premium we're paying because while they use the usual format of displaying a strikethrough price (usually suggested list or highest-it's-ever-been price), what they should be doing is showing us the in-store price next to the Express price so we know what delivery is really costing us. That and all the inconsistencies - each store has a different delivery time, minimum order, cutoff time, etc. As you said, if I can get an Amazon-like experience (flawed as it can be sometimes, it is at least consistent and fairly predictable) with the advantage of multiple stores, then I might get excited. Yeah, I installed the app, and I'll probably check it if I need something from one of its stores that I shop anyway, but I'll be very cautious. I might even try a (non-urgent, non-critical) purchase or two, but my expectations are pretty low based on what I've seen so far. So people were actually paying $95 for this?

John Scott: I ordered a turkey fryer on Wal-Mart.com 3 weeks before Thanksgiving and received it 3rd week of January. My last attempt was last year. I placed an order that never got shipped. They credited my card 2 months later with no explanation. They suck big-time.
