Our statement: John Bolton’s Appointment is a National Security Nightmare - "This isn’t just another terrible appointment, this tips Trump’s hand about the likelihood of military action on the Korean Peninsula."

The Saudi led military offensive and blockade in Yemen is starving 8 million people to death with US Air refueling and satellite intelligence support. Call Sen Shaheen and tell her to support Senate Joint Resolution 54. (202) 224-2841 CALL NOW!

8/ What's even more simple is how you – the American public – can prevent this nonsense from happening this week. Senate offices are tallying your calls to decide what bill to support. So please CALL 1-833-StopWar and tell your Sen. to vote YES on & vote NO on SJRes55!

7/ It's simple and : by refusing to take a strong stand to send the political message that enough is enough and you won't stand idly by as Saudi starves millions of Yemenis with our support, then you bring shame to the United States and the Senate.

6/ But millions of Yemenis won't feel warm and fuzzy as they starve to death because the US is too afraid to have a frank conversation with the Saudis that they are in an unwinnable war that's exacerbating their security concerns and empowering groups like AQ and IS in .

5/ Finally, the language used to restrict US refueling for in is so vague that Saudi Arabia can LITERALLY keep doing what its doing (meaning using collective punishment and starvation as a weapon of war), while Senators feel warm and fuzzy that they did "something".

4/ With a president who has made clear he wants war with Iran, it's not hard to imagine that Trump will take the language in S.J.Res.55 as a defacto authorization for war with Iran. do you want war with in ?

3/ 's bill would not only NOT change the calculus in the war, or address executive branch overreach, but it would also EXPAND US military support for Saudi by allowing US refueling for coalition missions against "Iranian terrorists"...whatever that means.

2/ also provides the US with a real stick to push for peace in by ending the notion that Saudi can continue this unwinnable conflict and starve civilians with impunity bc it has unchecked US support. Wrote about that here:

This thread is completely disingenuous and here's why: 1/ provides the Senate w/ the opportunity to take back Art. I power & start ending . This is what the majority of Americans want so why is ignoring this unprecedented opportunity?
