    You can actually try this with ESLint using the no-restricted-syntax rule to specify any syntax you don’t want to allow. (You can also write your own rule that can do even more complex checks.)

    👩‍💻 Being asked every other day whether it's possible to remove odd parts from JavaScript, I'm wondering: Would you actually use a stripped down version of JavaScript w/o all the things that cause trouble for JSVMs? 🤔

    IMO Eslint is one of the most useful tools in my box when I'm learning. 90% of the time it yelling at me is telling me very helpful things about how I can write better code.

    eslint is an incredible boon to the JS community. Rather than advising new JS developers to read books like The Good Parts, I just encourage them to use eslint with the default checks enabled.
