I haven’t used FB in awhile, but a RESTful JSON-based API would be nicer to work with than XML.

Okay, you got it! FogBugz was relaunched as Manuscript, built on the same engine but with a much nicer UI and smart integrations. And those integrations rely on a much cleaner new API that you can read all about.

There are still some parts that we have to clean up to make them more REST-y, but I hope it is a lot closer to what you’d expect of a modern platform.

In my particular case, it’s not out of nowhere; I’ve worked in dev evangelism roles off and on for 15 years. For Fog Creek, we’ve always been about speaking to and for developers, and of course our cofounder Joel Spolsky cofounded Stack Overflow, which is an essential part of the developer ecosystem. So the relationships have long been there, though…
