Instructions on the proper places to file different types of issues.
Updated Apr 4, 2013 by [email protected]

Where should I file my issue?

The following are different types of issues. Pick the one that corresponds most closely with the behavior you wish to report and follow the instructions.

→ Billing Issues

Example: my credit card is stuck in a pending state.

For all billing issues, please refer to the FAQ and then contact billing support if your issue remains unresolved.

→ Defects

Example: the behavior of the development server differs from production.

View existing defect reports and "star" or comment on the issue if it corresponds to the issue you are seeing.
Otherwise gather the following information:
  • Which version of the SDK are you using, for which Language, on which operating system?
  • What steps will reproduce the problem? (Please provide the minimal reproducible test case.)
  • What is the expected output?
  • What do you see instead?
  • What is your application ID?
Enter this information into the defect template, add appropriate labels, and submit.

→ Feature Requests

Example: App Engine should add support for the PHP runtime.

View existing feature requests and "star" or comment on the issue if it corresponds to the feature you are requesting.
Otherwise gather the following information:
  • What is the desired behavior of the feature? (Be specific!)
  • If relevant, why are current approaches or workarounds insufficient?
  • If relevant, what new use cases will this feature will enable?
Enter this information into the feature request template, add appropriate labels, and submit.

→ Production Issues

Example: my application is suddenly serving 500 errors.
