$$$HOW TO INVEST IN BITCOIN$$$ Hello newbie. Now that I have your attention, here’s how you invest: 1. Get ’s Mastering Bitcoin 2. Start reading it (ask for help) 3. You’re allowed to buy BTC using ~1% of your disposable income every time you complete a chapter 4. Hodl

The 1 out of 10 is something like an exchange using profits to subsidize mining fees for customers. But guess what, these companies are making a killing and are definitely not complaining

A great way to tell a project has nothing to do with BTC is when the company says “moving will save us a lot of money on fees”. Why would the company pay the fees? 9 our of 10 times this means your service has nothing to do with BTC and no one cares. Just riding the hype train

When faced with these truths, confused CEOs usually say “the community hates businesses”. Not true. We only hate dumb things! Bitcoin is money. Would you build your app on top of gold? Would you build it on top of USD? No, those aren’t even sentences. USD isn’t an app platform!

Yes Vinny, please GTFO. We don’t need your future poorly-implemented pump and dump scheme. You’ll just bicker on and on endlessly about how your spammy service that has nothing to do with Bitcoin can’t function with high fees. Build it on top of IOTA or something, no one cares

Merry Christmas shitcoin friends! Here in Israel we have our own altholiday, it’s a low marketcap but we scaled it up to 8(MB) days! Science! ❄️🎊🎄

People tried alchemy to change properties of gold that they didn't like. It didn't work out

Pro tip: Always select low fees, unless you're in a real hurry! Add a couple of extra bucks for the person you're paying for their trouble - they'd be happy to get a nice tip instead of having it wasted on the miners 😉 10/10

By using these services I'm helping taking care of the shared resource that is the Bitcoin network, but I'm not just being altruistic - I'm making transactions cheaper for myself too! 9/10

Honourable mention: for Android absolutely kicks ass even though it's "Alpha software", can't wait for the iOS version. 8/10

As for debit cards, has a Bitcoin wallet with SegWit but the debit card uses and no SegWit. They even charge a "consolidation fee" which is high because of it. Can't recommend yet. Are and using SegWit yes? I don't think so, please clarify! 7/10

As for desktop hot wallet, I use both and based on my needs. Electrum is really easy to use and now has full bech32 support 🙌 Also has RBF, custom fees 👍 Bitcoin Core is still waiting for SegWit support in the GUI wallet but it's coming... 5/10

For hardware wallets, both and were among the first with SegWit support. I think Trezor says bech32 is coming soon which is great - your move Ledger! I wish their software will add RBF, and also coin selection. Also, wish I could tether to my own node. 4/10

Also using on mobile. Different security model, but has RBF and custom fees. Multisig means txs aren't as cheap but you definitely get what you pay for here, and it's cheaper than non-SegWit multisig. I'm no longer using . GreenAddress is way cheaper. 3/10

For mobile, I'm testing the beta (formerly Airbitz). It's open source, supports SegWit (can send to bech32 addresses, which is a great first step!), and has a nice UI. Lacks important features: RBF, fully customized fees, and true seed backup isn't there yet. 2/10

I've been doing some changes with Bitcoin services and software I use. I'm now only using SegWit-enabled services: has free withdrawals (zero fees!) - useful as exchange (cheaper than ), and also for custody of small change for free txs. Has a mobile app. 1/10

Having worked in the "fintech" payment industry for a few years, I know first-hand how difficult it is to get users to buy at physical stores with their digital cash. They just don't care. Think about that before proposing a change to the base Bitcoin protocol.

Expectations went askew in the early days of when the network was tiny and market cap was small. These conditions no longer exist. Any public blockchain that achieves this level of usage and market cap will experience high on-chain fees. Block size will not really help.

When we reach 90% segwit adoption. When Schnorr signatures and MAST are fully utilized. When we have reached peak optimal efficiency of the bitcoin network. When sidechains and LN are deployed, then we can discuss a base blocksize increase. Not sooner.
