Nobody should have to trade their privacy for a social media page – it’s on businesses like @facebook to take necessary steps in protecting our personal data. Companies that access our data have to uphold their end of the bargain.

.@facebook compromised our trust - leasing out personal info of 70.4M American users to 3rd-party developers. The most notable of these developers, @CamAnalytica, has just announced it will shut down and enter bankruptcy proceedings in the UK.

To rob people of $ they put up for their own funeral is unconscionable. 31 additional victims have now come forward, bringing Kezmarksy’s total victims to 82. Initially, we believed that $525k was stolen between 2010 and 2017. Now, that # has increased by another $244k.

My Office will continue to fight this battle on the streets, in the courts, and anywhere else where our efforts are needed. Pennsylvanians deserve better, and I won’t rest until we make change.

Working with doctors and medical organizations, we’ve begun to reduce over-prescribing. We are starting to see a decrease — opioid Rx in PA went down 12% in 2017.

Addiction is a disease, not a crime - and we have to stop it from spreading. 4 out of 5 heroin users start w/ prescription drug use, and sales of Rx opioids in the US quadrupled from 1999 to 2014, even though there was no change in pain reported.

Fentanyl has saturated PA’s drug market to the point where it’s hard to find heroin WITHOUT fentanyl. This is the engine behind the increase in percentage of fatal overdoses (up 88% in 2017 from 57% in 2016) - these numbers are unsustainable.

This problem is not isolated to any one group – all corners of our Commonwealth have been rocked by a scourge that continues to rise. The recent shift to fentanyl is particularly distressing due to its strong potency and high mortality rate.

Thanks to all the labor leaders who joined in the conversation. Carpenters, ironworkers, steelworkers & all workers deserve to be protected - the rule of law applies to the workplace without out fear or favor. My Office is here to help.

We’re fighting to make Philly, Pittsburgh, and PA get all the federal representation and resources we deserve from the #2020Census. @MayorKenney, Mayor @billpeduto and I will continue working to defend our cities and our Commonwealth – despite any effort to undermine the Census.

I'm committed to pursuing justice for the Piazzas. My Office is dedicated to holding every individual accountable for their actions, consistent w/ PA law & the evidence at our disposal. College hazing is senseless – no child should lose their life to this ever again.

Tim & the Piazza family deserve for these findings to be heard by a jury. We’re appealing the most recent dismissal by a local district magistrate & request that the Centre Co. Common Pleas Court allow us to proceed to trial on these charges.

This evidence establishes that the 5 charged w/ Involuntary Manslaughter participated/planned the gauntlet, knew of Tim’s fall, and failed to render aid.
