Manage your family on Google

You can invite family members who are over 13 to join your family using the steps below. You'll get an email notification when someone joins your family.

Play Store app

1. Open the Play Store app .
2. In the top left, tap Menu  Account Family Manage family members Invite family members.
3. Tap Send.

Mobile or web browser

1. Visit the Your family on Google page.
2. Click Invite family member.
3. Click Send.

Family Link app

Note: Family Link is only available in certain areas. To get Family Link, sign up at g.co/familylink.

1. Open the Family Link app . 
2. In the top left, tap Menu Family group  Invite family members.

• The person you remove from your family group will still keep their Google Account, and any content they purchased using the family payment method.
• The person you remove will get an email notification letting them know they've been removed.
• The person you remove won't be able to make new purchases using the family payment method, or access any services shared by your family group.
• If purchases they made using the family payment method are pending, you'll still be charged for them. However, you can request a refund for unwanted or accidental purchases.
• If you set up Google Play Family Library, any content they added will be removed, and other family members will lose access that content. The person you remove will also lose access to anything in your Family Library.

Note: If you're in the Family Link early access program and want to remove a family member who is under 13, you need to delete their Google Account to remove them from the family.

Play Store app

1. Open the Play Store app .
2. In the top left, tap Menu Account Family Manage family members.
3. Tap the name of the family member you want to remove from your family group.
4. In the top right, tap More Remove member Remove.

Mobile or web browser

1. Visit the Your family on Google page.
2. Select the name of the family member you want to remove from your family group.
3. Select Remove.

Family Link app

Note: Family Link is only available in certain areas. To get Family Link, sign up at g.co/familylink.

1. Open the Family Link app . 
2. In the top left, tap Menu Family group.
3. Tap the name of the family member you want to remove.
4. Tap Remove member. 

• Everyone from your family group keeps their Google Accounts, and anything they purchased using the family payment method.
• If you set up Google Play Family Library, everyone from your family group loses access to the Family Library content that other family members added.
• If any purchases your family members made using the family payment method are pending, you'll still be charged for them. However, you can request a refund for unwanted or accidental purchases.
• If you subscribed to the Google Play Music family plan, your family will lose access to that service.
• If you delete your family group, you'll only be able to create or join another family group one more time in the next 12 months.

Note: If you created a Google Account for a kid under 13 as part of the Family Link early access program, you won't be able to delete your family group without deleting your kid's account.

Play Store app

1. Open the Play Store app .
2. In the top left, tap Menu Account Family Manage family members.
3. In the top right, tap More Delete family group  Delete.

Mobile or web browser

1. Visit the Family page on My Account.
2. Click Delete family group.

Family Link app

1. Open the Family Link app . 
2. In the top left, tap Menu Family group.
3. In the top right, tap More Delete family group   Delete.
