Help Ubuntu set the default apps

VLC: +Eric Karnes Qt is drawing with GTK since a long time, you know?

Eric Karnes: +VLC Yes and it does look much nicer than it has in the past. However, it still suffers visually from not being an actual GTK 3.0 application. Things like the preferences menu don't look like anything else found on Ubuntu by default and VLC can't make use of the GTK "dark mode" that pretty much all the alternatives use.

It's a good application that does some things better than all other alternatives but it doesn't look like it was made for Ubuntu and imo that's something really important when picking out defaults.

VLC: +Eric Karnes not all GTK application have preferences in the same way. Not all applications are Gnome3 applications. Not to mention neither Firefox, Chrome or Libreoffice have a GTK-like preferences dialog. And yet, they are going to be the default.

Or are you suggesting they do a Ubuntu Browser and a Ubuntu Office suite?

Manmeet Koley: Few more bugs like when I tilt my phone to portrait view or go back to horizontal view it will skip the audio and video for .2 Mili second. Moreover if I am switching the view sometimes it stops playing the video. * In your Android TV view it doesn't give you the horizontal view and while playing the video if you switch it to the horizontal view, it will get stop and I cannot play the video until and unless I restart the player again.

Moreover please include the screen split feature in the Android TV mode. It looks much better.

Ng Ek Ngee: sorry, to be more exact about the deleting of videos, after messing around a bit more, the actual file gets deleted, the cached thumbnail and playback position does not.

i tried playing a few of the already-deleted videos, I'll get an error saying that the file is not found. after that the playlist gets updated and shows that the file is deleted.

Ng Ek Ngee: Nexus 6P running on Android 7.1.2 beta.
- does not show up on Android Auto
- Day/Night mode not working
- deleting videos is fussy, sometimes works, sometimes does not (have to delete 2 to 3 times before the file actually gets deleted)
- crashed once, not sure why

all above used to work properly on 7.1.1

Jeremy T.: Currently running 2.1.1 on my N6 running 7.1.1. Every time I delete a video in VLC, it gives me the prompt to undo, then the video returns. I'm forced to delete it a second time at which it finally works.

5 years ago with VLC could download videos from YOUTUBE and while downloading it was starting to convert to the format that you will need, and the only problem that had to be fixed was the following:
In the configuration file manually with a hated text editor I changed a line, where I said that the source file was saved in (X) folder, and the target file (the format conversion) in another folder, Had conflict when starting the download and simultaneous conversion, today does not do any of this, it does not have to do with any prohibition, if hated does not know how to program or I suggest Lombard to read, in Linux we have a library with which any video of any YOUTUBE link regardless of size and format, is called http://YOUTUBE.DL

Hot only works poorly and halfway
