Pictures of the actual wound are easy to find and in my original report. But I'm going to make a wild guess that facts aren't enough to sway you.

A low velocity bullet would have nooooo problem destroying any bone in the body. However, none of my bones were hit. I was incredibly lucky - through and through calf in left and knee in right.

I was present for the war in 2012 and 2014 as well as the protests on May 11 and May 14. I did not observe any of the above personally nor hear about it from any of my medical colleagues, many of whom are anti-hamas.

It is the job of others to do the important and hard work of negotiating solutions. As an ER physician, we deal with consequences without judgement and with as much compassion as we can. I want to make my teachers proud that I do what they taught me.

I was treating massacre victims in Egypt's Ramses massacre, documented thoroughly by HRW and others. The Egyptian police cordoned the makeshift hospital off. I don't video anything, actually. I do real medical work bc I'm a doctor. 12 journos were shot- Had own shit to deal with.

Doctors feel it is our duty to attend to sick people, even when it presents a danger to us. I was acting in the best tradition of the doctors who trained and taught me this important slice of humanity. Even if I was wrong, my punishment should not have been summary shooting.

We were applying tourniquets to stop bleeding, which prevented the hemorrhagic deaths of at least 88 people over two days. We also used makeshift tourniquets because we ran out on another several hundred. Prehospital care is v. important as any EMT will tell you.

Are you saying that those shot on the border were intentionally targeted by Israelis? Answer carefully.

Your response seems to suggest that I was there at night or in confusing circumstances. I wasn't. I was shot during calm, with no burning tires, no gas, and hardly any movement of protesters. Our group of medics was well back of the protest area.

True fact. It was a low velocity bullet. Me and other medics were shot at close range. The term sniper is more referring to the kind of shooting (single shots, aimed at target), not the kind of gun.

I did not observe violence at our site, which had the highest casualty numbers in Gaza on May 14th, except for some stones thrown if you consider that violent. I did not observe the use of human shields.

I was doing frontline rescue. Hands bloody due to lack of gloves most of day, but I had just restocked some gloves before getting shot. I was designated for high priority wounds because as a physician I can treat them. But ur right. I was doing literally nothing when I was shot.

I didn't throw rocks and never have (does skipping pebbles on Youghall beach count?). I was clearly marked as a medical person in clear skies with no smoke, with paramedics in high-viz clothing. It was calm with no action at the time I was shot.

Thanks for the wishes. To be clear, doctors like me don't talk politics. I won't be speaking out about the situation. I'll be working in the emergency as soon as I'm able.
