On Netflix, made in Germany, liked it quite a lot, although season 2 (just dropped) got really complicated. I've heard it compared to Stranger Things, though in many ways it's totally different, but that's what made me ask...

From what I can tell, DXP has moved past the buzzword stage at the enterprise level, but yeah, there will be lots of pretenders out there trying to profit. Wasn't commenting on WPE specifically, don't know enough about what they are doing, happy to be guided by you on that. :)

Haven't seen any case studies, but haven't been looking. I think a DXP is likely to be pretty custom, connecting various systems the organisation uses together, etc and a lot of these orgs/ won't write them up in any detail. Most will be high level.

Yeah given the Flywheel acquisition today, I guess people are talking about WPE. My mind went straight to HM - I'm not sure I understand what they are doing exactly, but I have trust that it's in the DXP space and we all just don't understand the jargon. 😄

Fair point. Not sure what WPE are even providing under that label, maybe it's just marketing BS. I'm just saying that DXP is a real enterprise level thing and if people are trying to do that with WP, then fair play.

Incidentally, Squiz Matrix is on the DXM list. It's an open source PHP CMS. Back when I was in government, we paid a vendor 7 figures to implement Matrix. WordPress wasn't on the table, because no one considered it an enterprise CMS (so no vendors pitched it).

DXP is an enterprise thing and has been around for ages in various guises. WordPress is not listed by Gartner, but Drupal & SharePoint are, along with other enterprise CMS's. If people want to create DXPs out of WordPress, more power to them. gartner.com/reviews/market…
