Along with 's complicity with ICE, the local impact on migrant communities is forced displacement. AMZ will open its HQ2 in Northern VA, and community members are already seeing higher rent + are concerned about being pushed out of their neighborhoods.

As we see with Fort Sill—which imprisoned Indigenous peoples and Japanese immigrants before becoming a detention camp for immigrant children today—once there is a framework for incarceration, it will be reused & repurposed to inflict further harm.
