The campaigners have reached Victoria Square for a rally that will include a speech from Labour peer Lord Adonis.

Edmund Burke couldn’t have made a better Tory argument for a people’s vote than Dominic Grieve here. Brexit is profoundly ‘unconservative’, tearing up an intricate institution that works & took decades to construct in favour of revolutionary make-believe

The more I think of Mrs May’s 2022 festival to celebrate the centenary of Irish partition, the more revolting it seems. When she nonchalantly agreed this further sop to Arlene Foster & the DUP, did she have any idea of the hugely negative political & cultural symbolism?

Most people I have spoken to in Northern Ireland recently think Brexit will soon be followed by referendum on creation of a single Irish state & that it will probably carry because sensible unionists & nationalists aren’t prepared to be sacrificial pawns to DUP & Boris Johnson

Where will the border be on Boris Johnson’s bridge to Ireland? Will there be a big truck & car park in the middle of the Irish sea? ‘The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity’

So Boris Johnson now wants to stop HS2, which he told me he strongly supported while Mayor of London; instead he wants a bridge to France (there is already a tunnel) & a bridge to Ireland (whose economy & trade he is about to undermine) ‘Deranged’ indeed

"I knew what was being said in December, I'm not quite sure how the former Foreign Secretary didn't" - says she finds it strange that is now calling plans, which he praised in December, "deranged"

My only worry about ‘polite’ is that he was too polite when he rebelled against his own amendment. So let’s not go too soft Andrew. Just read his Telegraph article. Vg indeed. If only most Tory MPs had balls or brains or both

It’s well known Boris Johnson campaigned for a Brexit he hoped & expected would be defeated. He has been imploding ever since This is equally true of the DUP, which is alienating both unionists & nationalists by backing a Brexit with no advantages for Northern Ireland whatsoever

Theresa May's Festival of Brexit Britain is being ruthlessly, mercilessly mocked

Even by standards of Mrs May’s abject surrender to Brexit extremists Rees-Mogg, Farage & DUP in Northern Ireland, her decision to celebrate the new partition of Europe with a festival to mark centenary of Irish partition is mind-boggling in its insensitivity

‘I do believe in Brexit’ We know this isn’t true because Mrs May told us so. If she can’t even be true to herself, how can she be true to the country?

Now reached Coventry, 96 minutes after Euston. HS2 by now would have got to Manchester & half way back

85 mins after Euston, just crawled into Rugby. HS2 would have nearly got to Birmingham and back by now!

Mrs May’s disgraceful festival to ‘celebrate’ the centenary of Irish partition has at least brought a relevant perspective to Brexit - the partition of Europe in order to ‘keep Europe out’ of Britain

If Brexit goes through, Mrs May’s disgraceful ‘festival of Great Britain & Northern Ireland,’ to celebrate the centenary of Irish partition, will possibly be in the year of a referendum to create a single Irish state - brought about by her Brexit policy of partitioning Europe
